THE Ninth Philippine Fiesta in America is a Celebration That Exceeds All Expectations
It was a fun filled Filipino weekend at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey as the 9th Philippine Fiesta in America opened its doors last weekend Aug. 18-19, to guests from far and wide. Attracting crowds of more than 23,000, with guests and dignitaries coming from as far as the Philippine Islands, the Philippine Fiesta remains the largest gathering of Filipinos in the East Coast.
A lavish gala night kicked off the Fiesta, with Philippine dignitaries, sponsors, exhibitors, and entertainment luminaries in attendance. As for the Fiesta itself, it was non-stop excitement from start to finish.
Entertainers both famous and emerging entertained the crowds. Each and every act was a success evidenced by the resounding cheers which could be heard from outside the Fiesta pavilion. Three of the biggest names in Philippine entertainment regaled audiences with an eclectic blend of talent.
Singing hunk Piolo Pascual serenaded the audience with his manly charms, Concert Queen Pops Fernandez enthralled listeners with her timeless song numbers, funnywoman Pokwang kept the audience in stitches via a stand up comedy routine that had them laughing for more and finally, legendary crooner Jun Polistico bridged the nostalgic gap with ballads that have endured the generations. Emerging artists also shone at the Fiesta, as their fresh performances were applauded by the revelers - Ciennese Lontoc, Regene Joshua Odon, Soulfool Band, PAPI / Step by Step Dancesport Group, Fr3sh, Project D, Creative Image Dancers, Rhythomology, Bhelle Surban with the Moxie Band, Archie D, Chin Gomez & Chrysss, Roland De Castro, Bdubez, Koz and Golda Dela Merced all have a foreseeable bright future ahead as they pursue their dreams of entertaining through the art of song and dance.
Electrifying cultural performances by Dance Phils. Performing Arts, Bulakenos International, Terpsichoreans of Queens and Red Dragon Martial Arts provided spectators with an informative and entertaining display of Asian heritage.
At the Trade Pavilion, big-name companies bearing easily recognizable brands in financial services, telecommunications, information technology, real estate, consumer goods, mass media, logistics, travel, professional services and many more participated as Fiesta exhibitors or sponsors. Eager shoppers who braved the crowds were rewarded with bargains galore as a veritable bazaar of quality goods and services welcomed their enthusiastic patronage. Like every Fiesta before it, the Trade Pavilion succeeded in connecting businesses in a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition.
As no Fiesta is complete without feasting, the various food kiosks provided guests with a taste of delectable Filipino fare, from mouth watering home cooked meals, scrumptious bibingka cakes and the sensationally sweet ice cold confection: halo-halo.
