2. Include a reference page numbered in alphabetic order.
3. At the end of each bullet point, Include the reference number in ( ) so you and I know which reference the info came from.

PROJECT: CREATE A TIDEPOOL ORGANIZM
ADAPTED TO SURVIVE
POINTS: 100

LATE PROJECTS WILL BE MARKED DOWN 5% PER DAY

ASSIGNMENT: You are to design, describe and draw a NONEXISTENT tide pool organism. It must be able to live in the stressful environment of a tide pool.

I t must be able to survive:
1. High wave action
2. Air exposure and desiccation (drying out)
3. Temperature fluctuations (temperature that go way up &/or way down)
4. Salinity fluctuations (salt levels that go way up &/or way down)
5. Intense light when out of the water


PART I: Design & Draw/sketch your organism. (30 points)
Use scrap paper to perfect your design and then draw it as a finished work of art.
Use good paper and color it artistically.

PART II: Write a description of your invertebrate. (40 points)
Include all of the following in a story format:

1. Make up a common name that describes your organism in some way.

2. Describe how it protects its self from Wave Action.

3. Describe how it protects its self from Air exposure and desiccation (drying out)

4. Describe how it protects its self from Temperature fluctuations (temperature that go way up &/or way down)

5. Describe how it protects its self from Salinity fluctuations (salt levels that go way up &/or way down)

6. Describe how it protects its self from Intense light when out of the water

PART III: describe your organism to the class in an Oral Presentation.(30 points)
NO READING ALOWED – your overall knowledge of the subject will be graded
