Requirements

For your end of Trimester project you must write three to five pages of text in your research paper on the topic of your choice within American History from 1800 to 1860.

The following items are the minimum requirement to earn a “C”. In order to earn an “A”, papers must exceed these requirements.

Papers must:

i. Be Typed

ii. Use 12 Point Font

iii. Be double spaced

iv. Have a one inch margin on all sides

v. Include a cover page

vi. Have a minimum of 5 references

vii. Can include appendices

viii. Must have correct spelling and punctuation

References:

You must have a minimum of 5 references. One must be from a book, one must be from a physical encyclopedia, and one must be from the Internet. You may have an Internet encyclopedia reference but this will not count as either your Internet or your physical Encyclopedia reference.

Opening and Closing Paragraphs

Your opening and closing paragraphs must be summaries of what your paper is about. DO NOT start your paper with statistical data, ie dates of events, numbers of people, or amounts or quantities of things. The first sentence of your paper should entice the reader to read on – it should be interesting and let the reader know what subject they are about to read.
