Many home decorating magazines and articles have started showing different uses for doilies. Because I was getting tired of looking at my very plain lamps, I decided to do some experimenting and came up with the lamp shade covers on this page.

I used the same pattern with different color combinations for the living room and dining room, which gives an entirely different look to the exact same lamp. Other patterns could possibly be adapted to suit your color scheme.

Burgundy and Cream

Same lamps, same pattern, different colors--both table lamps.

Hunter Green and Natural

I have used a Burgundy doily under the lamp with the burgundy and cream shade and a natural color doily beneath the lamp with the hunter green and natural lamp shade.

The shade itself is 5 inches across top, 8-1/2 inches down the side, 14 inches across the bottom and 42 inches around the bottom. The crocheted cover is approximately 26 inches across and hangs down over the edge about 3 to 4 inches on the scallops.

Cost for a lamp shade cover of this size would be about $26.95 plus S&H.

Rather than creating a PayPal button for this item, I would request that you send me an email with the measurements of the lamp shade you would want to cover and I would be able to give you an appropriate cost for the item. In that same email, I would ask that you include your color requirements.

This is a floor lamp in my living room with a different pattern that had to be radically modified. I wanted to stay with the pineapple theme but needed a much larger doily. This shade is 7-1/2 inches across top, 13 inches on the side, 18 inches across bottom and 56 inches around, so the doily itself would be about 45 inches across. I would have to charge at least $40.00 plus S&H for a cover of this size. This cover is also in natural and hunter green.
