Horses In My Soul
As I recall the blessings from above,
My mind keeps repeating all that I love.

I have a good life even though I’m older,
I have goals and dreams that seem now bolder.

With a great husband, and a place to call home,
What more could one want, with a horse of my own.

Horses have always been a part of me,
Just like people, they’re all different you see.

Like the song of a sweet turtle dove,
I give each one choices, kindness, and love.

My message is, with your horse you are free,
But what works for you, may not work for me.

It is trust we must develop each day,
Then play with’em, and give’em some hay.

A strong bond of trust builds great harmony,
As friends, we enjoy each other’s company.

We both learn patience and a soft touch,
To us this means so very, very much.

My horse looks so handsome all dressed in his tack,
Small miracle, when he allows me to sit on his back.

Each successful ride without a trick or buck,
Should not be taken for granted, it isn’t just luck.

To ride everyday until my lessons are done,
Before I pass on, we shall ride as one.

There’s still so much that I haven’t learned,
To be called a horseman, it has to be earned.

My horse always makes me happy to be alive,
Through stresses and sadness, he helps me survive.

Each one of my secrets he has faithfully kept,
So be kind and gentle, & full of respect.

Finally always remember his pride & dignity,
And develop the relationship with creativity.
