Natural Horsemanship in Hand Class (by Sherry Jarvis)
Each task has a one-minute time limit. Any time the task is incomplete in the allotted time zero points will be awarded. You will be given a warning when there are 30 seconds and 10 seconds of your time remaining.
FRIENDLY (desensitizing)
1.Put a tarp on your horses back inside of a designated circle and
let him stand still wearing the tarp for 15 seconds. The 15-second
count starts when you are in position and your horse is standing still.
a. Get tarp on but remain holding the tarp & lead

b. Stand at least (6 feet away) from horse holding lead

STEADY PRESSURE (sensitizing)
2. Put both hind feet in a hula hoop move the front end using steady
pressure, either direction. One hind foot must always remain in the hoop.
If the horse steps both feet out of the hoop you must start again. The most
steps accomplished will determine your score.
a. One step in front crossover

b. Two steps in front crossover (1/4 circle)

DRIVING (rhythmic pressure)
3. Put both front feet in the hula hoop move the hind end using rhythmic
