From the Markleeville Chamber of Commerce, the nexus of about 300 miles of rides from a 7 mile loop to the big one 130 mile.
There are many passes to choose from: Monitor pass both sides, Ebbetts pass both sides, Pacific grade, Carson pass, Luther pass, Kingsbury grade-Dagget pass, And these rides start about 30 miles from Markleeville Sonora pass and Sweet water pass.
Much easier rides are; Diamond valley loop done counter clockwise, Grover hot springs and riding to the base of the several pass rides makes for scenic quality rides.
Rides are loops or out and backs
7.7 miles: Markleeville to Grover hot springs. 700' Climb Elev. Avg Grade 3
72 miles: Markleeville to Bear valley to Markleeville. 10.5K Climb Elev. Avg Grade 5.
26 miles: Markleeville to Monitor pass to Markleeville. 3.7K Climb Elev. Avg Grade 6
41 miles: This ride goes through Carson canyon, Woodfords to Picketts Jct 5.5+miles no bike lane and the shoulder in some places is only the white fog line: Markleeville to Carson pass at 8609' to Markleeville 4.7K Climb Elev. Avg Grade 4. Note, cars cars and trucks!!!
86.5 miles: 30 miles from Markleeville is State rte 338 Wellington NV to Bridgeport CA over sweet water pass it is a moderate ride. 5.8K Climb Elev. Avg Grade 2.
