In Revelation 14: 6-14 we read God's last loving call to the people on earth.

6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—
7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,
10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
No book ever been written has been more important to modern man than Revelation, for it exposes Satan's plots and snares and describes the religious institutions through which he works.

Revelation 1:1-3 pronounces a blessing for those who read and understand it.

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,
2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.
3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

It's messages are so crucial and imperative that God pronounces fearful sentence upon all, who in any way, tamper with it, Revelation 22:18,19.

18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Look again and listen to these awesome words from Revelation 14:8 and Revelation 18:2-5

8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
Who is God calling to? Non-believers? NO! The message is clear. He says, "Come out of her, MY PEOPLE!"

These are believers in a religious system that God is sorely displeased with. It's not the people he is angry with, it's the system. DO YOU KNOW WHAT BABYLON IS? Is there a chance that you may be in Babylon and not know it? It is no disgrace to be in Babylon since God is saying many of His people are still in it. But God's people, again GOD'S PEOPLE, WILL hear His voice and come out of Babylon.
The Symbol Of Spiritual Apostasy
1. God's final three point message of love and mercy is being taken to the entire world in our day, Revelation 14:6-12. What is the second part of that message? Revelation 14:8

8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

"________________ is ____________, is ______________".
2. What is God's command regarding Babylon, and to whom is it given? Revelation 18:4

4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

"Come_________ of her __________ people."

Note- God has many people in Babylon that He is lovingly calling to come out before the plagues fall upon Babylon.

3. Some Biblical scholars and preachers say that Babylon refers to the literal Biblical city Babylon restored. Is this possible? The geographical location is in Iraq. What does the Bible say as far as that being a possibility? Isaiah 13: 19-21

19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans’ pride, will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 It will never be inhabited, Nor will it be settled from generation to generation; Nor will the Arabian pitch tents there, Nor will the shepherds make their sheepfolds there.
21 But wild beasts of the desert will lie there, And their houses will be full of owls; Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will caper there.

"And Babylon....It will never be _____________________."

Note- God said it would never be inhabited again, and up through 1999, literal Babylon hasn't been inhabited or restored by any people. Only the creaures described in Isaiah dwell there.
4. What reasons does God give for telling His people to come out of Babylon? Revelation 18:2-5

2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

A. Babylon has become a dwelling place of___________________.

B. Babylon has become a prison for every foul_______________.

C. All nations have drunk of her __________________________.

D. Kings of earth have committed __________________with her.

Note- There is no question that God means business about Babylon. Whatever Babylon may be, GOD'S PEOPLE HAD BETTER BE MAKING THEIR EXODUS
5. Under what symbolism does God picture Babylon in Revelation?
Revelation 17:1-5

1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,
2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.
5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Note- God pictures Babylon, the FALLEN church, as a WHORE riding upon a beast with seven heads and ten horns.

In Revelation 12:1,2,4-6 God describes His true church

1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.
2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth..
4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.
5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.
6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.
Note- A pure woman represents God's church. However, a corrupt woman represents a fallen church. Jeremiah 3:1-8,20; Jeremiah 13:27; Ezekiel 16:26,27

1 “They say, ‘If a man divorces his wife, and she goes from him and becomes another man’s, may he return to her again?’ Would not that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the harlot with many lovers; Yet return to Me,” says the LORD.
2 “Lift up your eyes to the desolate heights and see: where have you not lain with men? By the road you have sat for them like an Arabian in the wilderness; and you have polluted the land with your harlotries and your wickedness.
3 Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain. You have had a harlot’s forehead; you refuse to be ashamed.
4 Will you not from this time cry to Me, ‘My Father, You are the guide of my youth?
5 Will He remain angry forever? Will He keep it to the end?’ Behold, you have spoken and done evil things, as you were able.”
6 The LORD said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: “Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot.
7 And I said, after she had done all these things, ‘Return to Me.’ But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it.
8 Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also.
20 Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so have you dealt treacherously with Me, O house of Israel,” says the LORD.;
Jeremiah 13:27

27 I have seen your adulteries and your lustful neighings, the lewdness of your harlotry, your abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! Will you still not be made clean?”;

Ezekiel 16:26,27

26 You also committed harlotry with the Egyptians, your very fleshly neighbors, and increased your acts of harlotry to provoke Me to anger.
27 “Behold, therefore, I stretched out My hand against you, diminished your allotment, and gave you up to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd behavior.

Note- Babylon in Revelation is a corrupt religious system. Could there be stronger language than a whore?
6. What is "Babylon the Great" called in Revelation 17:5?

5 And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

"The mother of ___________________________".

Note- The symbolism here is of a great mother church, which has had daughters who have sprung out of her. From what we have studied in previous lessons, Daniel 7 and Revelation 13, it doesn't take a genius to figure this one out. The great Roman church claims openly to be the mother church and has repeatedly made appeals to her separated children to return to her. The daughters who came from her "protested" and pulled away from the mother and became known as "Protestants." God is calling both mother and daughters Babylon. It is shocking and sobering to realize, but here in the scripture God is clearly indicting both mother and daughters as fallen. This DOES NOT MEAN that those who are still in Babylon are not sincere Christians. IN FACT, Jesus refers to them as "MY PEOPLE" Revelation 18:4. BUT He calls them OUT OF BABYLON, and His people will GLADLY OBEY His voice.
Over the last several centuries, there have been movements started by great reformers urged on by the Spirit of God, who faithfully carried God's torch as new truths opened up. But as they died, the movement stalled and God raised up other faithful torch bearers. If they were all raised from the dead and were to witness the dreadful condition of the Christian churches to day they would all be appalled and ashamed at what their God directed movements evolved into.

Since Martin Luther was the first of the Protestants to separate from Roman Catholicism, it seems appropriate that in November 1999, the Lutheran Church is the first to start the final processes of reunification. And other daughters are lining up to be reunited with their mother church.

If you have eyes and ears then listen with your understanding, WAKE UP, GOD IS CALLING, "COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE."
A Universal Religious System
7. Let us review the evidence that "Babylon" refers to the Papacy.

A. The beast the woman rides, Revelation 17:3, is the same beast as pictured in Revelation 13:1. Both have seven heads and ten horns and both deal with worship and blasphemy. The beast of Revelation 13 was clearly identified with nine points of identification as the Papacy. Chapter 17 is portraying the same beast in a new setting.

B. The beast of Revelation 13 was a persecuting power. The beast of Revelation 17 persecutes also. Revelation 17:6.

6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

C. Revelation 17:18

"18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth." Revelation 17:18 says she is the power of Babylon that was ruling in John's day which was Rome. The Roman empire was in power until 476 AD. We learned previously that Pagan Rome's power and authority was assumed by Papal Rome and then she ruled in place of Pagan Rome.

Note- The beast of Daniel 7, the beast of Revelation 13, and "Babylon" in Revelation 17 and 18 is the Papacy. It is uncontrovertible Biblical fact.
8. What is the source of the name Babylon? Genesis 10:9,10; 11:5-9.

9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.”
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.

5 But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
6 And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
9 Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

Note-Babylon comes from the tower of Babel. The word means CONFUSION. To escape another possible flood, the people of Babel decided to build a tower to the sky. God suddenly caused them all to speak so many different languages, that the resulting confusion terminated the project. The name Babel, or Babylon, has stood for confusion since that day.
False Doctrine Intoxicates
9. What is it that causes the confusion of SPIRITUAL Babylon? Revelation 17:2,4; 18:3

2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.

18:3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”

"....the inhabitants of the _________ were made____________

with the _________________of her fornication".

Note- Her wine is her doctrine or teachings. See Isaiah 44:14-19 "

14 He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes the cypress and the oak; he secures it for himself among the trees of the forest. He plants a pine, and the rain nourishes it.
15 Then it shall be for a man to burn, for he will take some of it and warm himself; yes, he kindles it and bakes bread; indeed he makes a god and worships it; he makes it a carved image, and falls down to it.
16 He burns half of it in the fire; with this half he eats meat; he roasts a roast, and is satisfied. He even warms himself and says, “Ah! I am warm, I have seen the fire.”
17 And the rest of it he makes into a god, his carved image. He falls down before it and worships it, prays to it and says, “Deliver me, for you are my god!”
18 They do not know nor understand; for He has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, and their hearts, so that they cannot understand.
19 And no one considers in his heart, nor is there knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned half of it in the fire, yes, I have also baked bread on its coals; I have roasted meat and
eaten it; And shall I make the rest of it an abomination? Shall I fall down before a block of wood?”

Jeremiah 51:7

7 Babylon was a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; therefore the nations are deranged.;

Note- Her wine (or doctrine) brings spiritual drunkenness. It causes people to stumble at the truth, Malachi 2:8.

8 But you have departed from the way; you have caused many to stumble at the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi,” Says the LORD of hosts.

And to flounder spiritually, Ephesians 4:14.

14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

And to become dull of understanding, Hebrews 5:11-14.

11 of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
10. In Revelation 14:8, what specific reason does God give for punishing Babylon and calling people out?

8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

"Because she has________all nations__________of the __________

of the wrath of her ________________________".

Note- Her false teachings are God's reasons for punishing her and calling His people out.
11. What are some of BABYLON'S man made doctrines (wine) that are unscriptural and thus bring confusion and make people spiritually drunk?

A. They say the ten commandments are not binding on Christians today.
B. Sunday sacredness, which is really the counterfeit Sabbath
C. Second chance doctrine, man made and Satan's lie.
D. Secret rapture is another false doctrine so widely accepted.
E. Eternal torment in hell made more Atheists than any other demonic doctrine.
F. Immortality of the soul is a perpetuation of the first lie Satan told our first parents.
G. Counterfeit baptism, not following the example Christ gave.
H. Lost souls already in hell is not Biblical, anyway hell is a future event.
I. Saved souls already in Heaven, sorry but the Bible says that's also a future event, And many more.

The mother and daughters teach much of the above and other man made doctrines that are unscriptural. They teach that when you die your soul goes to Heaven or Purgatory or Hell. If in Hell then eternal torment. But as we have studied, the dead remain dead until one of two resurrections. The first resurrection of the just is at the second coming of Jesus. He will call the righteous from there graves and that's when they put on immortality. It would be rediculous for someone to die, go to heaven to sing with the angels, and then when Jesus comes, to have to get in the grave to be resurrected.

If anyone went to hell, they wouldn't suffer eternal torment, we have learned that the lost suffer the second death and will be ashes. John 3:16 says believers receive eternal life. The lost perish. The Bible says only God hath immortality. The big danger is that when a person anchors themselves on doctrines of men taught by their church, and then read the opposite in the scriptures, they become confused and surmise that they are unable to understand the Bible and abandon Bible study.

Because a great deal of truth may be mixed with falsehood, many sincere Christians will accept everything as truth, because they are certain their Church possesses all truth and they readily accept error and tradition without searching the scriptures for the real truth.
THE PAPACY - PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
12. How does God describe the beast in Revelation 17:8?

8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

"....the beast that ______, and is _______ and yet _____".

Note- Both chapters 13 and 17 of Revelation depict the Papacy. In chapter 13 no distinction is made between the religious and political aspects of this power. In chapter 17 a distinction is made. The fallen woman is the apostate church and she rides upon the beast (the state or government) which indicates she is supported by the state and is in control. Here a combination of church and state is clearly pointed out.

The mysterious phrase "was, and is not, and yet is" refers to the Papacy. "WAS" refers to the 1260 years as a persecuting power. "IS NOT" is the period of Papal dormacy after receiving the deadly wound. "YET IS" is the period following the miraculous healing and ascent to power again.
13. Complete the blanks from Revelation 17: 9 KJV "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are the seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth."

The seven___________are the seven_______________on which

the ____________________sitteth."

Note- Some have said this verse has a twofold interpretation. It is said that no other city is surrounded by seven mountains, but the Vatican City is surrounded by the seven hills of Rome.
A second interpretation would be that a mountain in prophecy represents a king or nation - Jeremiah 51:24,25

24 “And I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea for all the evil they have done in Zion in your sight,” says the LORD.
25 “Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, who destroys all the earth,” says the LORD. “And I will stretch out My hand against you, roll you down from the rocks, and make you a burnt mountain.

Now read Revelation 17:9-11.

9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.
10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time.
11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.

The overall time frame for chapter 17 occurs after the 1260 years of Papal persecution and before the angels pour out the plagues.

A. Five are fallen (verse 10) 1. Babylon; 2. Medo-Persia; 3. Greece; 4. Rome; 5. Papacy (during 1260 years)
B. One is (verse 10) 6. The Papacy (From deadly wound until recovery)
C. Not yet come (verse 10) 7. The Papacy (From miraculous recovery until 10 kings support)
D. He is the eighth (verse 11) 8. The Papacy during the ten horns confederacy in verses 12,13.
14. What do the ten horns represent? Revelation 17:12

12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.

"The ten ________ are ten ________________".

Since this is unfulfilled prophecy, it is speculation as to who these ten kings are. They could be the ten nations of modern Europe: England, France, Germany, Italy, etc. It could be the European common market.

However, it will be the nations in control just before probation closes. The one hour with the beast is 15 days, using the day for year principle in prophecy. One day = 360 day year.
One hour = 1/24 of 360 or 15 days.
FALLEN CHURCHES REFUSE REFORM
15. Many wonder why the churches are seemingly cold and worldly. Many question why God's law is not taught with power and why sin is not condemned? The power is gone they say. WHY? Revelation 14:8

8 And another angel followed, saying, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

"Babylon is _______________________".

Note- The reason is that God said the churches would FALL from their lofty position with heaven. The reformation preachers were great men of God, and in their day the churches stood tall. But today compromise and the acceptance of man-made teachings have taken the fire and the Holy Spirit out of many of the churches.

Jesus Christ and the Apostles were considered a "cult" by religious leaders of that time. They taught things that differed from accepted church doctrine and were under constant surveilance and suspicion. Often the Pharisees, Sadducees and Rabbis were scheming and setting traps for those troublemakers. Today, God's people, who are ten commandment keepers, fall under the same kind of scorn and ridicule because what they offer from scripture is not in harmony with accepted man made church doctrines. They are maligned for keeping the "Jewish" Sabbath, when the Sabbath keepers are conforming to the will of God. God says that those churches who teach "Sunday sacredness" and other devilish doctrines are FALLEN.
16. Some believe that an effort should be made to reform the churches that have fallen. What does God say? Revelation 18:4

4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

"Come _______ of ______, my people, lest you share

in her_________, and lest you_____________________

of her__________________________".

Note- The fallen churches WILL NOT accept reformation, as they choose to cling to the false doctrines they are anchored to. Consequently they will receive the plagues and be destroyed. If you are in Babylon, God declares you are His and He calls you to get out so the plagues will not fall on you.
17. God calls Christian people who are in Babylon "My people". Jesus referred to Christian people who are not in His church as "other sheep". What does Jesus say will happen to His "other sheep" that are not yet in His fold? John 10:16. KJV

"16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd,"

"....them also I must________, and they shall _______my_______;

and there shall be _______ fold, and ________shepherd".

Note- Jesus plainly stated that He has beautiful sheep who are not yet in His fold, but He states just as clearly that He will call them and that they will come into His fold. He says, "My sheep hear my voice....and they follow me", John 10:27. God's sheep in Babylon today will also hear Him calling and will enter His fold. Make no mistake, the one fold of the last days that Jesus shepherds is the church that keeps the Ten Commandments including the seventh day Sabbath of the fourth commandment. Revelation 12:17; 14:12

17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
