Larry and MaryAnn Long began raising Longhorns in partnership with Lloyd Farmer in 1978. After starting their own herd, they took in Gene and Kaye Kramer's herd on shares. 7 Lazy S Longhorns has used three top herdsires: Wellfleet Cowboy (a Sidekick son), Sandhills Measles (Measles Super Ranger x a Conquistador daughter) and Sundance Kid (a Roundup son). Sundance Kid's first calf crop arrived in 2001. Sundance Kid's heifer's went to pasture with Maximus ST (a J.R. Grand Slam son owned by Greg and Saandy Sherwood) for 2005 calves. Maximus ST will be used again in 2005.
