Child and Youth Services (CYS)
CYS is a network of systems and programs through which Fort Irwin provides quality child and youth development options that reduce the conflict between parental responsibilities and unit mission requirements. The objectives of CYS are to support readiness and contribute to the quality of life of families by providing developmentally appropriate care options for children and youth. CYS includes full-day, part-day and hourly child care programs; before- and after-school care programs; middle and teen programs; family child care; team sports and outreach sports programs; and resource and referral for on and off post. CYS programs are designed to foster and develop children's physical, intellectual and socio-emotional capabilities regardless of the setting or length of time in care.
Reminder: All children must be registered at CYS Central Enrollment (Bldg 1322) to participate in any CYS Program. Central enrollment is open from 7.30am – 3.30pm. Annual registration is free.

FCC is in-home care provided by an adult, who is certified by Child Development Services in CDS certified government quarters.  FCC homes have unique qualities making them the preferred child care choice for many families.  Homes provide flexible hours, a comfortable family like setting, and activities based on real life experiences in the home and neighborhood.  In FCC, siblings can stay together, younger and older children learn together in a small group setting, and school age children can remain in a neighborhood setting.

Most homes offer full day, part day, and hourly care.  Special services may include 24-hour and long-term care during mobilization and training exercises, evening and weekend care, and care for special needs children and mildly ill children.  The flexibility of FCC providers is an asset in meeting the diverse work hours of military families!
*Are you interested in running your own childcare business in your home?
*Are you creative, energetic, and love working with children?

The Army FCC program might be for you!  Toys and equipment are available from the FCC Lending library to FCC providers.  Subsidy incentives are available for infant care, shift care, or special needs care.  Please contact the FCC office at 760-380-3502 for more information.
