Mecate Reins
The mecate reins come in a standard 22 foot length. These reins are made from 1/2" spliceable double braid polyester rope (commonly called Yacht Braid or Marine Rope). I developed these reins because I like the weight and feel of it while I am riding.

Slobber Straps
I hand-make these slobber straps from vegetable tanned leather. The edges are finished and the straps are oiled by hand so they are ready for use when you get them.

Rope Halters
4S Rope Halters are made with a 5/16" poly filled diamond overbraid rope specifically made for rope halters. It is a medium lay rope that provides enough body to hold its shape while haltering. The dimensions (knot placement) were developed with the help of a professional horse trainer in North Central Nebraska. When properly placed on the horse's head, it encourages the horse to lower its head and give to the pressure. The construction is proper with interlocking overhand knots and a fiador knot.

Stocked size is for an average Quarter Horse. For other size horses, email or call me and we can figure out dimensions that will provide a custom fit. I have tied halters for sheep, miniature horses, foals, yearlings, gaited horses and even a pair of oxen! If it has four legs and eats grass, I can probably tie one to fit!

12 Foot Lead Rope
My Training Leads are made of 1/2" spliceable polyester rope (commonly called Yacht Braid or Marine Rope). It gives superior strength, weight and feel. I use polyester rope instead of nylon because it is almost 20% heavier per foot than a comparable sized nylon with less stretch. Polyester is also more resistant to the ultraviolet rays of the sun and is 3 to 4 times more abrasion resistant.
This means you are buying a lead with more feel and weight that will stand up better to the harmful effects of the sun and normal use!

The straight yacht leads ends are properly back spliced with one end finished with a latigo leather popper and the other a tassle. Attach it to the halter with a sheet bend or double sheet bend knot. Each lead comes with photos showing the attachment to the halter. Standard lengths are 12' and 22'. Contact me for any variations.
