Hamer Horse Company (HHC) offers colt starting the right way. I believe that you must lay a proper foundation from the ground, making sure the horse is completely prepared, before ever throwing a leg across. Building confidence in the horse is the key ingredient. Some horses progress more rapidly than others, depending on their temperament and past experience. I REFUSE to guarantee that a horse will be rideable after 30 days of training. I WILL guarantee that I will do what I feel is right for the horse. I do my best to educate my clients about the methods that I use to work with their horses. I strongly encourage all of my clients to become involved in a similar horsemanship program where they can continue to learn.
HHC also offers a few select horses for sale from time to time. I am not a horse trader/broker in the conventional sense of the word. I am a horse trainer who occasionally sells a horse. Horses that I sell have usually been in my possession for some time and have been trained or retrained by me. Some of the horses that I sell have been raised by me as well.
HHC offers riding lessons to a select few riders. Clients who have had horses trained by me are always welcome to take lessons. Children and adults who have a REAL desire to learn all they can about horses are welcome as well. I am not interested in working with those who only want to learn the mechanics or who have no real love for horses. My passion is to help those who have a hunger for it like I did when I was starting out. This pays greater rewards than money ever will.
