Dear NOVA Friends:
For ten years, the goal of the NOVA Foundation has been to continually improve the quality of care that is so important to our veterans. We have strived to achieve this goal through research projects specifically targeted at the health care concerns of our veterans, through scholarships to ensure that the most qualified applicants receive the best education, and by keeping our nurses informed about the most recent developments in nursing practice.
In 2006, the NOVA Foundation became the first nursing organization selected as a charity partner for the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC. The event was a tremendous success with the marathon and 10K participants raising nearly $60,000 for scholarships and research grants for nurses in the VA. We are proud to have been chosen as a charity partner in 2007 and look forward to another exciting, more successful event!
The Marine Corps Marathon is the 4th largest marathon in the world. This event has over 34,000 marathoners and 4,000 10K walk/run participants. In 2007, the Marathon will be held on October 28, and we hope to double the NOVA Foundation Team members and the funds raised for scholarships and research grants. Consider joining the Team!

During the 2006 event, the NOVA Foundation Executive Director, Deborah Beck, expressed “I really enjoyed making a contribution to VA nurses and our veterans. It was an experience I will never forget! I would encourage everyone to join us again next year.”
