U.S. Army Freedom Team Salute Looking to NOVA for Ambassadors to Help Honor Veterans

"I am one of thousands of Viet Nam veterans who never received any kind of thanks for our service in a very unfavorable war... But your Salute honors us all and I want to personally thank you and your organization for taking my anger away. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!" - U.S. Army Retired, Texas

While Freedom Team Salute is a program meant to thank Army veterans for their service to our country, many of them turn around and thank the Army for their Commendation package and for being recognized as still being a member of the Army family.

Through a simple nomination process, Freedom Team Salute (FTS) allows Army veterans to receive an attractive package, which includes a Certificate of Appreciation, a personalized letter of thanks from the Secretary of the Army and Army Chief of Staff, and an official U.S. Army pin. All material is provided at no cost to either the nominator or the recipient.

NOVA is proud to partner with FTS in order to reach Army veterans with whom our members come into contact on a daily basis in order to ensure they receive the honor of this recognition. One way to help is to become an FTS Ambassador.

What an FTS Ambassador can do:

  • Act as a local point of contact for the FTS program
  • Display FTS collateral at your VA hospital
  • Help to identify Army veterans within your VA hospital (employees and patients)
  • Provide nominees' contact information in order for FTS to send personalized Commendation packets
  • Plan/conduct a pinning ceremony at your facility to publicly honor veterans within the area VA hospital or veterans' facilities

If you are interested in becoming a Freedom Team Salute Ambassador, please contact FTS at 703-602-4303, or via e-mail at: FreedomTeamSalute@hqda.army.mil

NOVA would also like to recognize all Army veterans within our organization. If you are an Army veteran, or know Army veterans who you would like to receive an FTS Commendation, visit www.freedomteamsalute.com to submit an online nomination.
