Cecilia McVey, RN, MHA was appointed to the NOVA Board in 1994, and previously served as Treasurer. She is also Secretary of the NOVA Foundation. In 1996-97, she represented NOVA on the National VA Advisory Committee on Innovations in Nursing. This was an appointed position by former Under Secretary, Kenneth Kizer, MD.
Cecilia McVey joined the VA in 1972, and currently serves as Chief, Nursing Service for Integration of the New England Health Care System. In this leadership role, she is responsible for the integration of the nursing services of the Boston, West Roxbury and Brockton VAMCs. She has also served as Chief and Associate Chief, Nursing Service of the Boston VAMC. Other positions included: Surgical Nursing Coordinator; Medical Nursing Coordinator; Head Nurse and Staff Nurse.
Cecilia has a Masters in Health Administration as well as a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Administration from Clark University. She graduated Cum Laude from Boston College with a BS in Nursing. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Boston College Nurses Association, Massachusetts Nurses Association, and Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives, where she serves on the membership committee.
