On the north bank of the Pohatcong Creek, this house was owned by J.B. Carpenter in 1874. According to Early Architecture of Warren County, this house probably dates from the first quarter of the 19th, if not earlier. The chimneys, rising in each gable at the intersection with this stone partition, provided a corner fireplace in each 1st floor room. You may find a complete writeup on page 21.
