The main responsibility of the Pohatcong Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau is to investigate crimes committed by both juveniles and adults, which include; auto thefts, homicides, burglaries, violent crimes, frauds, identity thefts, special victims, and economic crimes. The investigators in this unit typically process crime scenes, interview suspects, witnesses and victims, along with following up on leads eventually leading to the arrest of perpetrators. Some other duties performed by the bureau are background investigations, ABC license investigations, and juvenile matters.

Narcotics Unit
The Narcotics Unit is run by the Criminal Investigation Bureau whose objective is to prevent the use and sale of Narcotics in our Township. One of the best ways to prevent the use and sale of narcotics is from tips from the public.
