Kindergarten The Blue Dolphins:
GOALS To introduce children to the excitement of learning and help each child discover that they are special and that if they believe, they can achieve.
HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS AND PROCEDURES Homework is sent each Monday and is due back by Friday morning. The packet will have about 10 pages in it per week and will review the concepts being taught in class. Towards the middle of the year, the Homework will also include a weekly list of spelling test words to practice at home. The students will have an opportunity to do some of their homework at our Homework Clinic, if you choose to sign them up.
SPECIAL CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES The Kindergarten class will participate in a lot of holiday and seasonal activities; such as crafts, music, and learning fun. We will learn how to handle our emotions in positive and empowering ways. Every Wednesday each student can bring a Sharing item that begins with the letter of the week. The students earn “Kindercash” for good behavior, work, and helping. On Friday, they can spend their money at the class store and buy a treat for themselves!
TEACHER PROFILE – Samantha Sanchez I've
been working at Rainbow since February of 2005, I started off working
in the office. As of February 2006 I began working with the children
in our Pre-Kindergarten room. At the start of our 2006 school year I
began working with both Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children.
Ever since I was a young child I dreamed of being a teacher, I am now
living my dream. In my spare time I love spending time with my husband
and two daughters. We love going to the beach, lake and movies, and
being with family and friends.
THE DOLPHINS We've chosen the Dolphin to be our mascot because it teaches us to live life with joy and take time to play everyday. It also symbolizes the beautiful individual we each are and how important it is to live in balance and freedom.
