Tenor Peter Furlong:  Equally at home in both contemporary and traditional repertoire, this tenor has been universally praised by both the national and international press as ‘a strong performer with promising range and tone’ (Opera News), ‘the highlight of the evening with his strong singing and acting ability’ (New York Times), ‘an elegant tenor, one that is surely destined to be a major box office draw’ (David’s Review Corner/Naxos.com), and as being ‘brilliant in every way.’ (OperaOnline.us).

 

His recent engagements include such roles as Camille in the New York premier of (Thèrése Raquin) by Tobias Picker at Dicapo Opera Theatre, Daniel in the Scottish premier of (Manifest Destiny) by Keith Burstein at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) with Theater Passau in Germany, Cavaradossi (Tosca) with National Lyric Opera in NYC, Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) with both National Lyric Opera and Dicapo Opera Theatre in NYC, Don Gomez (Die Drei Pintos) with Wexford Festival Opera, (available on Naxos CD), Chapleau (Der Postillon), and Rodolfo (La Bohème) with Theater Dortmund in Germany, Rodolfo with Orlando Opera (FLA), Sam (Street Scene) and Rodolfo with Dicapo, and Il Duca in (Rigoletto) with Metro Lyric Opera (NJ) under Maestro Coppola.

 

Mr. Furlong spent two seasons at The Santa Fe Opera as a member of their internationally acclaimed Apprenticeship Program. From there, he was invited to Colorado as a Young Artist with Opera Colorado. As a Young Artist with Opera Colorado, Peter appeared as Tamino in (Die Zauberflöte) under Maestro Rudel, as Rinuccio in (Gianni Schicchi) under Maestro Silipigni. 

 

Mr.Furlong’s concert appearances have included Macduff in a concert version of Macbeth with the Orchestra Filharmonica Europea (Milano), the tenor soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the Littleton (CO) Symphony Orchestra, for the remembrance of the Columbine H.S. victims, the demanding tenor solo in Carmina Burana for the Breckenridge Music Festival, and the tenor solo in Handel’s Messiah for the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado.
