About the Builders
JON NORTH
Jon North began building homes when he was big enough to keep the hammer from dragging on the ground. In his youth he built several homes with his father and brothers and learned the importance of hard work and building a quality home. In 1996 Jon obtained his class B-100 contractors license in Utah.
Jon is a graduate from Utah State University obtaining his bachelor’s degree in engineering with minors in computer science and mathematics. After working in the engineering field for 5 years, he moved to Rexburg, Idaho where he has been able to apply his vast understanding and knowledge of building sciences to the homes he builds.
Justin Avenius has worked in the construction industry since 1996 as a lumber yard assistant in New York. While still in the Scouting program, he was approached by a local museum to build a bridge over a loch on the Delaware & Hudson canal for his Eagle Scout project. Although others told him it would be too difficult, he wasn’t intimidated, but rather managed the project aggressively and excelled.
Shortly after, Justin spent several years involved with detailed commercial projects laying the ground work for large residential neighborhoods. While working toward his bachelors’ degree in Construction Management from BYU-Idaho, Justin saw opportunity with residential homebuilding and began building locally. After graduating, he worked for Centex Homes Corporation from 2005 to 2007 managing the second largest neighborhood in the North Carolina Region and directly overseeing the construction of over 100 homes during that time. While there He was hand selected to participate in a 3 month intense builder training program, “Boot Camp”, which he graduated from in the 99th percentile. While employed with Centex Homes, Justin received several awards including the “Best Attitude” Award as well as the “Golden Nail” Award for his dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.
The desire to be closer to family and his passion for the great outdoors has brought him back to South Eastern Idaho, where he is the Project Manager for Whisperwood Homes.
