Email information to be erased from deactivated accounts

Beginning December 1, 2002, EZ-Nettools will begin a periodic process that will remove the email accounts, email address lists, and email messages from all deactivated accounts. This process will probably occur in the early hours of the morning. The automated process will remove all email information including the accounts, all address lists, and all messages associated with any deactivated accounts. THIS IS PERMANENT AND IRREVERSIBLE.

Normally, you as the reseller are the only ones who deactivate member accounts. Prior to this change you could recover all of the email information anytime in the future when you determined to reactivate the account. With this change, you may not be able to recover any email information via reactivation.

ICServ also deactivates member accounts for resellers whose accounts are seriously past due. The email accounts in this situation will be treated the same way. Therefore, it is very important to keep your account current with ICServ.
The process of locking an account will NOT result in any email accounts being removed. The ICServ billing department will often lock an account as the first step to encourage the payment of a past due account. The process of erasing an account has always removed any email accounts. Hence, this change will not affect accounts that are locked or erased.

We are implementing this change because our email servers are filling up with mail associated with deactivated accounts. Often this email never gets looked at or deleted. The amount of email being processed through our system continues to increase. To meet this demand we are in the process of upgrading the email servers to run more quickly and to improve the robustness of the hardware. We are trying to make the hardware as lean as possible to maintain and improve our level of service.
