Call up the spirits of the Wild West, old Mexico, Spanish colonies and Presidents of the past beautiful San Antonio. Stand where history was made at the Alamo, discover the "Queen of Missions" at Mission San Jose, tour the Lyndon B. Johnson Ranch - "Texas White House", scenic cruise at the famous "River Walk."

In addition, stop at "The Sixth Floor" Museum dedicated to President John F. Kennedy, visit to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, former home for President Bill Clinton, and more!

Itinerary:

Day 1
Departure from RTA Travel (New York/New Jersey) in a spacious, video-equipped motorcoach, enjoying the great scenery along the way. Then, settle into a comfortable en route hotel for a good night rest.

Day 2
After continental breakfast, head to the Knoxville Museum of Art in Knoxville, TN – opened in 1961 as the Dublin Gallery of Art. In 1987 the Dublin Gallery of Art underwent a formal name change and became the Knoxville Museum of Art. It provides a wide variety of exhibitions, intensive education outreach, exciting public programs, and art acquisitions that enable the museum to effectively serve the cultural need and interest of diverse communities throughout East Tennessee. Drive then check in to our en route hotel.

Day 3
After continental breakfast, head to the Casey Jones Village in Jackson, TN. One of the state’s Top 10 Travel Attractions, visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world each year. Drive the scenic road and then check in to our en route hotel.

Day 4
Today we’ll arrive in beautiful San Antonio, Texas – Home of the Alamo! Named after the Italian Saint Anthony of Padua, whose feast day was June 13 when a Spanish expedition stopped in the area in 1961. Famous for its River Walk, the Alamo, Tejano culture, and home to the Sea World San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme parks. The city is visited by 20 million tourist per year. Then check in to our hotel for a 4-night stay.

Day 5
Our adventure begins with a guided tour of San Antonio. The tour include visits to San Fernando Cathedral, the King William Historical District, and El Mercado – an area patterned after an authentic Mexican market. In the afternoon we’ll visit the Institute of Texan Cultures – devoted to the 26 different cultures that settled in Texas. After diner we’ll go to the famous River Walk for a scenic cruise!

Day 6
Today, we’ll depart for Fredericksburg. “Jewel of the Texas Hill Country.” Start with a visit to the National Museum of the Pacific War, including the George Bush Gallery. Here visitors become quickly engaged in the personal stories of Americans from all branches of the military involved in the Pacific theater of World War II. Then, depart for the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park where we will go on a guided tour of the LBJ Ranch, and see the Texas White House. In the evening, enjoy a lovely dinner complete with entertainment.

Day 7
Visit to the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Experience the Queen of the Missions – Mission San Jose, established in 1720. Later, go to the IMAX Theater of San Antonio River Center to see “ALAMO – The Price of Freedom.” Then, stand where history took place when we visit the buildings and grounds of the ALAMO – “The Shrine of Liberty.”

Day 8
Today we’ll make a stop at “The Sixth Floor” Museum located in the former Texas School Book Depository in Dallas, TX. Dedicated to President John F. Kennedy, the museum holds genuine artifacts from the fateful day, various media clips and perfectly restored view of what the room look like that day. Later in the day after a relaxing dinner we’ll check in to our en route hotel.


Day 9
After breakfast, head for Little Rock, AR – former home of President Bill Clinton, for a visit to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. The Library contains nearly two (2) million photographs and over 75,000 museum artifacts. On to a relaxing drive to our next en route hotel.

Day 10
Today, we’ll take the pleasure in a riverboat ride on the Tennessee River. Then as we head back home, relax and enjoy the scenic drive till we arrive and check in our en-route hotel.

After breakfast, we depart for home sweet home… a perfect time to chat with your friends about all the fun things we’ve done, the great sights we’ve been and where your next RTA Ka-Familia trip will take you!

Reservation & Payments:
A reservation is confirmed only upon receipt of a US$200.00 (per person) deposit.
Full payment is due 90 days prior to departure date.


Cancellations:
All cancellations must be in writing. Deposits are refundable up to 90 days prior to departure with US$50.00 cancellation charge. Cancellations made after final payment date are non-refundable. No shows and unused portions are non-refundable as well.


Insurance:
Trip cancellation insurance and medical coverage is available. We strongly recommend it.


Not Included:
Cost of passport, visas, health documents, laundry, insurance, optional sightseeing & items of personal nature such as food & beverage not on the regular d'hote menu.
