We may use your pictures or video on the web, and perhaps we'll even use the audio. We'll give you the credit for anything we use if you want your name mentioned. If you do not want your name mentioned we respect that as well. However, by giving us your name we may be able to confirm with you that our facts are correct.

What are we looking for?

Anything. We may not use everything, but we'll gladly accept your submission. Send pictures of severe weather, a fire or a car crash. News can take many forms and if you see something that you think may be newsworthy, send it to us. Even if it's just a written newstip, we'll take it and check it out.

It is, however, very important that you DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN HARMS WAY in order to take pictures or video.

Why do we need your help?

Much as we'd like to be, we aren't everywhere all the time. Often when we hear about breaking news, it takes us time to get there. Sometimes by the time we would get to a scene everything is over. You may be there when it happens and can be an eyewitness.

Thank you, we appreciate your help in making The Statesman a better news source for everyone.
