Funeral luncheons are hosted in the church social room following the funeral mass. The Church provides paper products, coffee, etc and dessert.The family of the deceased is offered a choice of caterers who provide the food. Volunteers serve, setup, and clean up. Senior Altar Servers are available to serve funeral mass. During the school year, grade 7 and 8 St. Paul School students can be asked to serve. Contact: Pam Brady, Office Manager.
A Hospitality Committee has been recently formed to gather at the church the day of the funeral to greet the family and the mourners; these volunteers will also attend the funeral liturgy and will assist at the liturgy as Eucharistic or Lector ministers if needed.
Annually, a Memorial Mass is offered every November for those deceased parishioners and their family members who have died during the past year. A light refreshment reception follows the Memorial Mass.
Twice annually the parish offers a five-week series for the recently bereaved. The Pastoral Associate and a volunteer Hospice nurse facilitate these sessions. Each session contains time for sharing, prayer, along with helpful suggestions and handouts. The five-week sessions conclude with a prayer service in the church.
