Mission & Outreach Commission
|
|
In 2006 this commission has visions of truly reaching those in need and making St. Paul's "visible" in the community.
We have many areas of focus, including, but not limited to:
1. PARTNERSHIP PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION M & O members attend meetings each month to keep abreast of the needs in the neighborhood. St. Paul's has been involved in "Trunk or Treat", supplying Thanksgiving Baskets, gifts for children at Christmas, donating food to the pantry, and help fund other projects. 2. INTERFAITH SHELTER We are advised regularly how we can help the homeless and the efforts of the shelter. Currently, we package donated toiletries for each person and donate small toys for children. This year St. Paul's is also filling Easter Baskets. We will continue to help monetarily as we are able. 3. AWARE SHELTER The Church School students have already put together 15 "HUG" bags for the children that come to this place. The shelter has asked if St. Paul's could donate some coloring books, crayons, and small toys. 4. SALVATION ARMY St. Paul's will donate funds. 5. LINGAP CENTER St. Paul's hopes to continue some support along with providing funds for their "Feed a Child" campaign. 6. FOOD FOR THE POOR This commission has planned to donate funds for the purchase of two sewing machines. 7. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY Donation of funds to help with a build. AND we are excited to become more physically involved with some local builds. 8. COMMUNITY EVENTS Discover Downtown Again, Relay for Life, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Downtown Spring Planting, Working and donating clothing to the people of the Ukraine, AND MUCH MORE.
St. Paul's members are a generous and energetic avenue for God's love to spread. Contact Wayne Frey or Sparry Sparks to become a part of these ministries.
