About Us Studio Claremont is the artistic vision of Gabrielle Heide. Gabrielle is an accomplished and locally well known 20-year plus California state credentialed art teacher, having taught art to students of virtually all ages, from pre-school to home school, from elementary to junior and senior high school, from adult school to senior citizens, as well as the physically and developmentally disabled! As Studio Claremont's artistic director, in addition to teaching several of the classes herself, Gabrielle works closely with our staff of well qualified teachers to ensure the highest quality of art instruction for all students in the studio!
The creative combination of our studio art program, combined with our cool and unique retail gift store and art gallery, make Studio Claremont a definite must see for visitors to the historic Packing House in the Claremont Village. We offer art instruction for students ages 4 and up, as well as eco-friendly, fair trade gift items in our retail store. Our spacious studio is a bright, airy and open space, and visitors are welcome to stop by for a tour!
Studio Art Program Our studio art program (i.e. art lessons), is an outgrowth of the demand for local, high quality art enrichment for children. The studio art program allows our students the opportunity for artistic growth and expression that otherwise would not be available in a traditional school setting. Studio Claremont provides stimulating hands-on art experiences to its students. Working closely with parents, each student receives a level of personal attention, direction and support, appropriate to the students' goals, ambitions and aptitude. We include a component of art history to all of our lessons and our students explore a variety of art media in the process. AND, we have FUN doing it! Unique Retail Gift Items From handcrafted serving spoons made by villagers in Africa, to recycled paper bowls handmade by families in Vietnam, and much, much more, we offer a variety of unique, eco-friendly, fair trade gift items in our retail store. Studio Claremont carries a large variety of handmade goods from carefully selected companies who pay fair wages to hard working individuals in impoverished countries. These workers are providing for themselves and their families, in an environmentally sensitive manner, through the use of eco-friendly renewable resources and recycled materials.
About Our Location - The Historic Packing House Once a hub for Claremont's citrus industry, the historic 1920's lemon Packing House has undergone extensive renovations in order to house the city's largest complex of restaurants, shops and live/work lofts. Known as part of the Village West expansion project, in addition to Studio Claremont, the building features the Claremont Museum of Art, and Claremont Forum, two restaurants, a jazz nightclub, a wine bar, high-end retail shops, public art installations, and an outdoor events plaza.
