Project Homeless Connect 2009
Hundreds of people visited the Salvation Army on Friday, November 20 to take part in Project Homeless Connect 2009.  Hospitality and support services were provided to Jackson-area homeless people, including housing, medical, dental, financial, employment, food and more.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was one of many agencies there to help the community. They gave away books, snacks, hygiene kits, coats and other outdoor winter apparel.
St. Vincent de Paul Council President, Ellie White and her husband, Bernie, were on hand to greet visitors. David Kemler, general manager of St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores also talked with people about the services the Society provides.
