If you are not seeing the changes you have made
, following are a few reasons that may be causing this:
If you are using AOL
, you will need to log off of AOL and log back in. This is because AOL uses a proxy server to store pages and the older versions of your pages are stored there. There is nothing that you can do do get your newest version without logging off of AOL and logging back in.
You may need to Refresh your page
. When you go back to view the web page, you will need to Refresh/Reload your page. If you are using Explorer, hold the 'Control' button on your keyboard and click the 'Refresh' button on your browser. If you are using Netscape, hold the 'Shift' key on your keyboard and click the 'Reload' button on your browser. This will force your browser to check for the newest version of the page on the internet.
You may need to clear your Cache
. Many browsers are set up to 'cache' your pages. This saves a copy of your page onto your computer in your 'cache' and when you go back to that page, the computer will pull it from the 'cache' rather than go find the newest changes. To clear your 'cache' complete the following instructions:
Explorer
:
At the very top of your browser, you will see the blue bar. Just below that you will find the 'File Edit View ...' (This varies for different versions of browsers.) click on the 'Tools' and then choose 'Internet Options'. In the middle of the window that comes up, you will find a 'Delete Files' button and a 'settings' button. Click on the 'Delete Files' button. You will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Click on the 'OK' option. This will delete your 'cache'. You then need to click on the 'Settings' button. Click on the radio button next to 'Every Visit To The Page' and then click the 'Ok' button. Click the 'OK' button. You can now go see your page. If you still are not seeing the latest version, you will need to hold the 'Control' button on your keyboard and click the 'Refresh' button on your browser. This causes your browser to go to the internet to get the latest version of your page.
Netscape
:
At the very top of your browser, you will see the blue bar. Just below that, you will see 'File Edit View Go......' (This may vary with different versions of the browser.) Click on the 'Edit' and choose the 'Preferences'. Click on the + sign next to 'Advanced' and then click on 'Cache'. Click on the 'Clear Memory Cache' button and then the 'Clear Disk Cache' button. Then select the radio button next to 'Every Time'. Click the 'OK' button. You should now be able to view your web page. If you still are not seeing the latest version, then hold the 'Shift' key on your keyboard and click the 'Reload' button on your browser. This will give you the latest version of your web page.

If you are getting an 'Index Of'
when you use the 'View Web Page' option:
This means that you do not have an index page. When you click on the 'Go' button for the 'View Web Page' option, then the computer will bring up your index.html page. If you do not have an index.html page, then you will be getting the 'Index Of'.

If you want to see the page you are working on:
You will first need to use the 'View Web Page' option to view your index page. If you have a link from your index page to the page you are working on, then you can simply click on the link and you will see your page. Be sure you have that page saved first. If you do not have a link from your index page to the page you are working on, you will need to remove the 'index.html' from the URL and enter the page name with the .html extension. This will then show you the page that you are working on. You can also use the 'View HTML' option in page builder.
