Feb. 17, 1919 - Aug. 22, 2008
Dad passed away peacefully at home with family by his side after a two year battle with cancer.
Dad's entire life revolved around serving Jehovah to the fullest extent possible. He graduated from the sixth class of the Watchtower Bible School of Gilead. While on his missionary assignment in New Zealand he met Betty and decided she needed "rescuing" and married her on March 1, 1952. Three of their four children were born there. He spent 17 years in New Zealand (1946 - 1963) helping people learn what the Bible really teaches. In the years since returning to the USA he continued this work but with family responsibilities, living in Missouri, Arkansas, Zillah, Wapato and the final nine years in Moxee.
Dad was a man of few words, but when they came out they were straight to the point. He loved camping and would do so whenever possible. That was followed by his love of buying and selling tons of campers / motorhomes / trailers - a true horsetrader - much to the frustration of Mom!
Very special thanks to Dr. Brady, the hospice nurses and those who cared for Orville during his sickness. Dad is survived by his wife Betty, Floyd Crosswhite, Sandra (Skip) Wilson, Grant (Cathy) Crosswhite, and Michael (Jodi) Crosswhite; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Orville endured to the end faithful to Jehovah, and is now in Jehovah's memory awaiting the Resurrection, John 5:28, 29.
Service will be held at East Valley Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7003 Mieras Road, at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008.

Rocky Briskey
|
 |
|
Rocky Joseph Briskey was born October 4th, 1947 to Joe and Dotty Briskey. He passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008.
He grew up in Naches, WA and graduated from Naches High School.
Everyone that knew Rocky knew he was an exceptional sportsman. He lived for hunting and fishing. I remember people would ask him what punch card he was on because he could fill a couple salmon and steelhead cards every season. It was also tough finding a picture that didn't have an image of a catch or kill. So many photos of Rock had a buck, bull or salmon in them.
He also took great pride in being a timber faller. He was working in the brush right up to the end of his life.
People may not have known he played for the Yankee farm club right out of high school. He was a fishing guide on the Cowlitz River as well as in Alaska later in life. He worked in the mines for a time in Colorado.
The fishin' hole won't be the same without "Rockwell P Shagnasty".
We all love you and miss you. There's not enough paper to list the people that knew and loved you.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at the Yakima Chapel of Valley Hills Funeral Home.

Chase Everett Morris, born Aug. 15th 2000, lost his battle with cancer on Aug 7th, 2008, at home surrounded by his friends and family.
He was the sweetest little boy with the biggest heart and touched more peoples lives than he could have ever imagined. Generosity was always at the forefront with Chase, from handing out money on "school store days", to always writing little notes to people to brighten their day.
We question ourselves, "Why did this have to happen, to such a wonderful human being?", and hopefully someday we will find the answer. But for now, we must trust that Chase's short time on this earth was for a reason, put forth by a higher power.
The difficult fight is now over for Chase and he is dancing in the clouds, forever smiling down upon us, and someday each and every one of us will get to meet him again, where he will welcome us to sit down and watch an episode of Spongebob Squarepants.
Chase will be forever missed, by his loving family and numerous friends.

Leonard Caseville LaFollette
|
 |
|
YAKIMA - Leonard Caseville LaFollette died at age 94 on August 7, 2008 while being ministered to by his granddaughter, Dyanna, and long time caregiver and friend, Laurie Galland, at Willow Springs Nursing Home, whose wonderful staff blessed him with quality care, love, and affection. Thank you so much Willow Springs.
Leonard was born third of twelve children in 1913 to Willie and Dillie LaFollette of Galena, Missouri. He received his education "early," as he put it, "on one end of a crosscut saw." That work ethic followed him his entire life. He didn't approach a job as much as he attacked it. After several years of migrating to and from the Northwest, he settled in White Swan with his wife Pauline in 1942. He saddle-broke captured wild horses for resale before gravitating to farming later on for his livelihood, settling in Granger in mid-1970. They raised two boys, Bob and Gary, and provided for at least eleven other children needing help through the years. Although un-educated, the man was smart, handy, and innovative. He could fix almost anything or at least make it work. He said it didn't have to be pretty to get him down the road and some of his creations proved that.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, six brothers, two sisters, and his precious great granddaughter, Brittani. He is survived by his two sons, Gary LaFollette of Sunnyside and Bob LaFollette of Richland, three sisters, Ruby Stephens of Toppenish, Alice Ames and Janita Overacker both of Wapato, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews galore.
He was loved very much and will be missed by all.
Funeral Service for Leonard will be Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Zillah at 1:00 p.m. followed by burial at the Zillah Cemetery.

SELAH - Lloyd L. Cazier, 70, of Selah, Washington passed away on August 5, 2008 after a long and most courageous battle with lung and liver cancer.
Lloyd was born in Eugene, Oregon in 1937 and spent most of his childhood enjoying the great outdoors and trout fishing that Central Oregon afforded in those days. After High School Lloyd spent four years in the Navy before eventually going to work for the Boeing Company which is where he met and married Eldora (Shorty) Cazier, whom he spent the rest of his life with. After retiring from Boeing, Lloyd and Shorty spent their time being "snow-birds" shuttling between Parker, Arizona and Selah, Washington, also spending a lot of time up at Lake Easton "camping" in their 5th wheel trailer Ð roughing it for "mom" was having a full hook-up for water and sewer. Lloyd never lost his love for fishing and always had his rod and reel with him wherever they happened to "set up camp". Lloyd leaves behind his wife of twenty-six wonderful years, Shorty Cazier; his mother Maxine Cazier and sons Jim Cazier (granddaughter Carrie and grandson Austin); Mike Cazier (wife Vickie and granddaughter Jasmine); Mike Hubbard (wife Debbie and grandsons Ryan and Torey); and Pat Hubbard (grandson Shawn). SELAH - Barbara Arline "Skip" Frederickson, 71, of Selah, WA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 4, 2008.
Beloved mom, grandma, sister, aunt, friend, and wife, Arline ("Skip" to many family and friends) was born November 4, 1936 in Cleveland, OH. She married Joe Frederickson in 1954 and began raising her four daughters in Coos Bay, OR. Joe moved the family north to Renton, WA in 1965 during the Boeing "boom" years. In 1976, Joe and Arline moved to Selah, WA.
Known for her bright smile and open heart, Arline was a true friend and devoted mom and grandma, cherished by many.
Those who knew her, loved her, including her husband of 54 years, Joe; her daughters Debbie Frederickson, Diane (and Rick) McArdel, Sue (and Allan) Allen, and Carla (and Steve) Phillips; her brother Doug Moore, his wife Nel, and daughters, Tara, Janet, Stacy, and Natalie; her grandchildren Jason Phillips, Ben Frederickson, Shannon, Darren, and Robin McArdel, and Jeffree Allen; as well as other extended family.
Thank you to the staff at Memorial Hospital who took care of Mom when she was unable to care for herself.
We know that family and friends who have already passed over welcomed Mom with love and joy. And while the rest of us miss her, we are happy that she is living in eternal peace and rest.
