Karen L. Pevida, 65, of Yakima died Thursday, September 24 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pevida was born in Chulemani, Bolivia, and moved to the United States at age 2. She lived in California for 50 years and moved to Yakima in 1996. She worked as a nurse in retirement homes.
Survivors include a son, Elliott Pevida of Japan; a daughter, Julie Wingate of Yakima; a sister, Diane Ingram of Hood River, Ore.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, September 27 at the 35th Avenue Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Yakima. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
