Dorothy Joyce Smith, 76 years old, made her final journey home to be with her loved ones and her Lord and Savior on Sept. 14, 2009.
Dorothy was born Jan. 17, 1933 in Piggot, Arkansas to Sidney and Mable Carlisle. She was one of ten children. All of the children are gone now except Jessie Carlisle of California, Cecil Carlisle of Missouri and Lillie Gates of Toppenish.
Dorothy graduated from Zillah High School in 1952. She met and married Drulynn Smith in California. They lived there for many years. They moved to Texas, then Lynwood, Wa., finally retiring in Yakima.
Dorothy was a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by Drulynn in 1992.
Dorothy had a gentle spirit and a wonderful laugh. She will be missed by all. The family wishes to thank everyone from Cozy House Adult Family Home and Hospice for their loving kindness and care.
