Ray T. Vance
YAKIMA - Ray T. Vance, 87, of Yakima, lost his short, yet courageous battle with leukemia on September 17, 2009. He was born in Asotin, WA on February 17, 1922. His family made their way to Enterprise, OR where he graduated from High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He worked as an electrician in many locations throughout his life, settling and retiring in Yakima, WA. He will especially be remembered for his handy hands that could make anything work and build beautiful handmade woodwork.

He is survived by one son, Kenton Vance (Deena); an adopted daughter, Deanna Vance; a stepdaughter, Linda Gabbard (Dan); six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Lou, a step-son, Richard Shaw, his parents and his siblings.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Brady and all of the helpful staff at both hospitals.

Services will be held on Friday September 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.valleyhillsfh.com.
