YAKIMA - Martha Henrietta Sherland, 100, passed away on September 3, 2009 at Living Care Retirement Community. She was born on December 7, 1908 to Henry and Adella (Hintz) Fredericks in Egland, North Dakota.
Mrs. Sherland occasionally attended the Stone Church, and she worked in Yakima for Del Monte and Ray Malinga canneries as a sorter. She also worked in the pulp mill in Everett for five years. She came to Yakima in 1931 and married her husband, the late Orzie Sherland, on September 30, 1928 in Cando, North Dakota. She loved to crochet. After retirement she and her husband loved to travel to Arizona and California to visit the family.
She is survived by her grandson Craig Sherland of Tukwila, WA; great-grandson Brandon Cleary of Yakima; granddaughter Valerie Reyes and great-granddaughter Tiffany Perez both of Yakima.
