"Nearly twenty years ago I read an article from a book about "Weighted-Walking". The main point from the article was that weight walking did more for cardiovascular fitness than all other forms of exercise. The Israeli government set about to discover what form of exercise was best at developing cardiovascular fitness. Military and civilian workers as well as Olympic athletes were tested. As a group, the most cardiovascular fit individual was the mailman - the mailman, walking three to five miles per day, carrying 20-35 pounds. Tests soon demonstrated that walking with a weighted load was far and away the most effective exercise to develop and maintain cardiovascular fitness. I just finished a ten-week competitive weight-loss program in our community. I walked for one hour every day with the V-Max weight vest from WeightVest.com. My vest weighed 70 lbs. I did alter my diet somewhat too, drinking less soda pop and eating less food overall.

I lost 48 lbs. (from 237 lbs. down to 189 lbs.) My waist size dropped from size 40 to 34. I have more energy, require less sleep, and have more endurance now than in the last 25 years. I am an avid swimmer and used to swim one to one and a half miles per day. When I ballooned up to 237 lbs, I couldn't swim a quarter mile without having to stop from exhaustion. Now, I can swim over two miles and have to stop now because my shoulders ache, not because I'm physically tired. I recommend without hesitation the V-Max weight vest from WeightVest.com.” Sincerely, Curt A. Thompson, MD

"I love the vest and have had several comments on it from people at the gym; I tell them that I bought it at weightvest.com. The purpose of the purchase was to switch up my routine because I felt that I was in a plateau with my workouts. Something new and exciting to spice it up and it seems to be working. It may or may not be related but I have dropped 4 to 5 pounds of fat in the past 2 1/2 months and my overall strength has actually increased. I would probably credit that to increased core strength which the short narrow vest works every second you have it on. My main uses are when I superset my leg lifts with jumping rope or some plyos - box jumps land and explode, line jumping, agility exercises. I have also integrated it into my abs workouts and done pull-ups with it on although I'm only at 30 lbs right now which is probably enough for awhile, but I love that I have room to grow with 20 more pounds. Shoveling with the vest on was also fun - a workout, but fun.

"About a year or so ago, I visited your website BUT purchased a competitor's product saving me $. Well, just as you outlined on your site, after about 10 months the vest started to show severe signs of wear. Today while hiking, several of the individual weights fell out and there are now several other areas on the vest I expect to self-destruct soon! I am a Medical Doctor specializing in Neurosurgery and am very meticulous when it comes to caring for my "stuff". I kept the vest clean wiping it down and airing it after each use and washed it as instructed every month or so. I use the vest 4-5 times a week, hiking 1-2 hours at a time. After today's hike, I pronounced it, "DEAD"! I am now back on your web site and ordering your 75 lb vest for me and the 25 lb vest for my wife just like I should have done last year! Thanks for your time and we look forward to receiving our vests! Respectfully," - Gregory J. Loomis, MD

When you go from 212 to 242 you can push a lot more snow!! The short narrow 50# has been great. Narrow enough to shoot hoops or do over the head exercises and heavy enough to tear you up at the same time. When it warms up this spring I plan to run hills with the entire 50, we will see how that goes. Good Luck!!" -Doug U., Marion, IA

"These are very nice vests. My fire department (Platte Canyon Fire Protection District, Bailey, CO) uses them for wildland pack tests. I want one of my own!" -John G., Bailey, CO

"Very fast shipping. I received it only 3 days after I ordered it. I ordered a 50lb men's short narrow. It is a very high quality vest. I was considering an MIR vest, but they don't offer the narrow option, and I didn't want to buy a cheap piece of junk either. I'm using it for push-ups, chin-ups and other body weight exercises and walking. I may have to buy another from you later. I let my daughter try it today. She competes in track and cross country and she loved it." -Troy D., Nevada, IA

"[This is my second 75 lb. weight vest], I had the same vest but it got stolen at the gym. I love the equipment and had to have another one! I can't train without it. Thanks for your great weight vests!" -Chris L., Jupiter, FL

"Hi there! I ordered the 100 pound vest and used it straight after receiving it (just with 25 pounds)...I live in Australia and had been waiting a couple of months and I have to say that it's got to be one of the best investments I have ever made! (that also goes for having to pay shipping to Australia!) Anyway I use a range of stuff - Kettle-bells and free weights, etc., and the vest not only fits perfectly into my workouts (and on my body) but has already helped to intensify every movement I make! To say the least it's an awesome product and I'd give it the highest recommendations to anyone looking to purchase." Thanks again. -Paul T, Australia

"I just got my 50# short vest today. I love it. Everybody who looked at it commented on how nice it was. I live in Alaska and your website says price includes shipping. That never applies to Alaska. So when I called to ask what the shipping would be to Alaska since everybody else in the lower 48 acts like it is some far off country not even part of the USA I was told, "Well we consider Alaska as part of the USA and the price includes shipping". A 50 pound vest and I got it in Alaska, 200 miles from the nearest big town (Anchorage) in 5 days. That's unheard of. I was actually expecting in a few weeks. ... I absolutely love the vest (so much nicer and more comfortable than the old day pack filled with rocks and weights) and you have blown me away in the shipping department. I would definitely recommend the V-Max vest to anybody looking for a high quality weighted vest. Especially to the people in Alaska. The fact the price really does include shipping is unheard of in Alaska. Now if you could just teach the rest of the lower 48 states the fine, very easy and cost effective art of shipping. Thanks for the great vest and great shipping. (It's nice being part of the USA again!) - Chuck T., Alaska

"Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you how pleased I am with your product. I ordered mine Monday and it arrived Wednesday. I am incredibly impressed with your commitment to timely delivery.
The vest is high quality, rugged, and well-made. I have to admit that ordering it through the Internet made me nervous; I was afraid it would be a disappointment. To the contrary, it is impressive. As a former Marine I have an appreciation for rugged, well-designed, well-constructed equipment.
I also had the opportunity to call your customer service right after placing the order as I realized I had erroneously ordered two by mistake. The person who helped me was friendly and thorough and corrected my mistake promptly.
Thanks for delivering more than you promised." - Michael A.,

Hey guys at weightvest.com. Happy New Year.I am a 43 year old police detective here in Florida with twenty years on the job. Three years ago I again started training in the martial arts; Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Krav Maga. During classes my cardio was just not what it should be. Late in the class I would be totally spent, and I started pacing myself during class just to make it to the end. My wife purchased the 50lb short vest for my 43 birthday. In three short months, I have lost 30 lbs (with the help of clean eating) and I am no longer pacing myself in any of my classes. I have more stamina than all of the other guys in their twenties and thirties. Several times a week I use the vest (I am up to thirty pounds) and I walk a brisk pace of up to four miles, and I do at least 10- 100 yard sprints, 8-80, 6-60 4-40 yard sprints with the vest on, then I take the vest and do the same sprints. When I take the vest off, I feel like I am running on air. The weight I have lost has all been in my midsection, and I no longer have a tummy, or love handles. I am currently 5’10 200 lbs. And I am shooting for a ripped 190 lbs. I haven’t been that light since my sophomore year of college. My yearly check up was last week, and my blood pressure is below normal, my resting heart rate is 55. I used to have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and was borderline being diagnosed with diabetes. Since using the weighted best, I am in great shape, and no longer have any health issues. I haven’t felt this good since I was in my early twenties. Thank you guys for the great product. -Tom B.,

Jeff and Megan, "I have trained with your vest for a little over a month now. The vest is incredibly comfortable -even for long runs [the latest one, 8 hours, yesterday during the night]- and it definitely delivers. Not only I have lost weight, but my stamina has significantly increased. I feel that training with the vest will be one of the key ingredients to being successful in completing the Marathon of the Sands next March [150miles in the Sahara desert with a backpack weighing close to 25lbs]. Thanks again for an incredibly well designed product." Take care, -Richard Dube Bellevue, KY

"As an athlete, I'm always looking to increase performance and go just that much further than my competitors. In the past, I've had problems finding a weight vest that fits properly or that's designed for women and felt like my performance was being limited because I wasn't able to train at this higher level, with a weight vest. The V-Max weight vest is perfect! The main thing is it doesn't move around, it fits great! I have been able to increase the intensity of my training through using the weight vest for many things to enhance my overall strength, attributes and performance on the ice. I've been able to use the weight vest for many things including in the weightroom, plyometrics, core training and sport specific training. When using dumbells, I'm not strong enough to hold the amount of weight that I would like to in my hands, so I just use my vest to increase the amount of weight. Also, I've used my weight vest for improving my explosiveness in plyometrics and specific speed skating motions. It has been a necessary addition that has helped to maximize all aspects of my training and ultimately my performance and continued quest for gold . Thank you V-Max!" - Allison Baver 2002 and 2006 Olympic Team Short Track Speedskating

Hi, Just received my 50# short vest on Monday 19th after placing my order late Friday the 17th. I was so surprised to receive my vest so quickly! The vest is of superior quality. As is the workout! I'm 36 years old and have always worked out to keep in shape. But, over the past year and a half had not been able to do so as much as I normally do. Resulting in a slower metabolism and the "middle age spread" beginning. I'm planning an elk hunting trip this fall to south-western Colorado that will involve hiking into the wilderness area at least 7 miles only with what I can carry in a pack to hunt and survive. In preparation for the upcoming hunt, I'd been walking on heavily inclined cemetery roads to strengthen my legs and back for the trip. This is what led me to begin looking at weight vests. As a youth, I remember using a long style canvas 100# weight vest to do roman chair sit-ups. I remember it being hard to breath in these old style vests, as they cover your abdominal area. So, being the type of person who researches things to death I take interest in, I started looking for vests to get an idea of how much they cost. Certainly had some degree of sticker shock in this area to say the least. Then I discovered the sites that lure you in with low prices were not including the weight, just 10# and then having to order the rest for a cost that wound up costing much more than Weight Vest.com's. Upon receiving my vest and throwing it on with 25# in it and walking for an hour, I was drenched with sweat and could notice the tremendous benefit of using the vest over not. I'm so confident about how quickly strength and stamina will come to me now that I'm using the vest. I really look forward each day to placing it on and taking my hilly hike. Have noticed my lower back and abdominal strength benefitting from using the product only 1 week. And I'm sure I'm beginning to drive acquaintenances crazy by preaching the gospel of just how great this type of exercise is for you. I now am not dreading the strenuous effort that will be required for hunting/survival in the mountainous 10,000 - 11,000 foot area I'm going to. And I know this is a product I will get MANY years use. I'm already planning to order the 25# of additional weight. If you're uncertain about doing this, I can only say that I believe it will work for you. Even if your schedule is hectic, just add wearing the vest and performing your normal activities for half hour or or more. You'll notice the difference! The half vest approach allows you to easily breathe during exercise and does work your core muscles, back and stomach. Very satisfied with product and results.

Dear Weightvest People...
The 30# vest arrived today...the mailman needed a helper to lift and put it in our big mailbox...he should buy one and get fit! This is really an ingenious, innovative and very effective product to use as a training tool which will not strain the knees and ankles. Previously, I have worn ankle weights, but they not only are detrimental to the knee joint, but the rust dust which leaks out ruins socks and shoes forever. As a vascular/cardiac surgeon who has to confront overweight people on a daily basis, I have always said to them: "Take your kid's backpack, put in 30 pounds of sugar or flour, and wear it all day....then tell me what you think." These people always, always ....come back and say, "Holy smokes, Dr. John, that was brutal !!!" "Now", I tell them, "You are carrying 60 pounds of fat around every day..and that is not only extremely exhausting, but is very harmful....lose weight and understand how much it really weighs on you." The Weightvest is a derivative of that teaching....and in a good form which enables a person to put on those extra pounds for a workout...not a lifetime...and get the benefit of muscular fitness, calorie burn and afterwards...feel like he or she can FLY. Congratulations on a superb product. I will be wearing mine at Sonora Sports and Fitness Spinning Classes for the rest of the year! - Dr. John N. Baldwin, MD, FACS Twain Harte, CA

"Dear Jeff: Attached is my photo using the V-Max Weight Vest while working out. I use the V-Max Weight Vest while doing my aerobic stepping exercise after lifting weights. I am very pleased with the weight vest and it has become my favorite piece of exercise equipment. It helps to build my aerobic endurance while providing my lower body with an incredible workout. It has also increased my endurance very rapidly and I look forward to doing aerobic exercise since purchasing the weight vest. "I use the vest twice a week while rock climbing, and I have successfully gone in 6 months where most climbers go in 2 years. The vest is everything I hoped, and more. My strength and fitness gains are thru the roof, and the V-Max vest increases the intensity of my workouts by ten fold. The great design allows me to climb safely without worrying about harming my body. If I fall the symetrical layout of the vest allows me to land safely. Thank you for the great design, and wonderful performance." -Marc B., Gainesville Fl

"Hey there Jeff, my name is Kasper and I'm a big fan of the weight vest. I believe in using resistance training to accomplish my athletic goals. I want to be more physically fit and have more endurance when competing with my friends in basketball. I don't go to a gym because I currently can't afford the monthly membership so I work out at home or go running around the block. I've noticed an increase in my strength when it comes to doing pushups. I can do 55 pushups while maintaining perfect form without the vest now. Also, my calves have gotten a little bigger when I've used the weight vest in combination with the jump soles and everyone said that they've noticed an improvement in my game. That's my story for now. I love this product and I'm glad I invested in it. Thank you to all the guys at Weightvest.com." -Kasper P.

"Jeff: I am a civilian working at Camp Pendleton, CA. I heard Marines rave about the benefits of the V-Max weight vest. As a result, I purchased the 50 LBS model in 09/2005. I have since added the 25 LBS attachment for a total of 75 LBS. I have lost about 20 LBS in body weight and my strength and endurance have increased over the past year. I recommend the V-Max weight vest to anyone who wants to improve their level of fitness. I walk with the V-Max 4-5 times per week for a duration of 30-45 minutes. I also include hills in my training regiment. I usually take my 10 month-old son along for the workout. The V-Max product is the best on the market. Regards, -Christian S., Beach, CA.

"Hi Jeff, Here is a picture of me doing bench press in my vest. I wear the vest to enhance my regular workout. It has helped my overall endurance, especially my shoulder strength. This vest far outclasses the vests I have seen in stores. This is some very tough laterial. The part I like best is that it is expandable later on. Thanks again for your support." -William R., Fresno, CA

"Hi Jeff, The V-Max has been a terrific investment. I like to keep things simple: running the steps at the high school stadium, squats, lunges and step-ups at home; pull ups and dips or push ups. I am still working my way up to handling the full 50 lbs of the vest during all the exercises, but the ability to put on the vest and to get to work quickly - without the need to get to a gym is invaluable. Thanks for the great product." -Geordy F., Annandale, Virginia

"I have had the vest for about 3 months now and have been using it for strength training and agility/speed training. It has become a valuable asset to my workouts and I have been very pleased with it. Lately I have been running stadiums at a local football field here in town. The picture was taken at that location. Overall I think the weight vest has been a great investment and is well worth the price. Anyone who enjoys exercise will definitely benefit from using the vest." -Stephen B., Savannah, GA

"I bought my 50lb weight vest earlier this year. The well built weight-vest was the selling point for me, along with the excellent web-site with lots of information about your weight-vests. I am a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Waukesha Fire Department located in Wisconsin near Milwaukee. The weight-vest(50lbs) provides me with the feeling of the weight of wearing all of my fire protective turn-out gear. Since using the weight-vest I have noticed an increase in my overall core strength, which is exactly what I was looking for. My passion is Martial Arts training. The weight-vest is obviously another training aid for improving core strength for Martial Art self-improvement." -William S., Waukesha, WI

I am now using the V-max weight vest to train to attempt to break the record for 'Most Sit-ups, one hour, using an abdominal frame'. I wear the vest to do glute ham developer sit-ups, AbMat sit-ups, inverted sit-ups hanging from a cargo net, all types of push-ups, pull-ups, squats, farmers walks, and CrossFit WOD's. At 54, I need all the training help I can get. Thanks for such an awesome training tool!" -Skip Chase (Guinness Membership #12831, Claim ID13021)

"Pictured is me with the 75lb V-max weight-vest. Although I have tried the simple exercises that accompany the vest, I have found out that a dynamic usage of the vest is far more helpful in my wrestling competition. I bought your 100 lb vest, and find that it provides a burn for my muscles that no ordinary workout can. I like to use an advanced core training approach to the vest. My workout consists of 10 100yrd sprints, for a heavy cardiovascular warmup along with a traditional warm-up of 100 push-ups and 200 sit-ups before every workout. Now although I have a heavier vest I have gotten my body accustomed to the weight rather quickly and was able to work myself up to 75 lbs while doing the following activities. I find it best to use the vest while doing things such as playing my hobby of soccer and my technical training for wrestling. Through this approach I have been able to up my max bench 75 lbs and increase my 100 meter from 12.20 to 11.65 in that small amount of time. I have
|
|
also lost 15 lbs of excess fat and gained a few lbs of muscle. The one thing I am most proud of is through your vest attaining a 5:25 mile. Right now I'm still training to beat your 100 lb challenge which I am sure I soon will. Thank you for your awesome product." -Keith. Spring Grove, PA

"Jeff, I train hard in the off- season for my high school volleyball team. This year I was looking for something to add intensity to my workouts. My dad ordered one of your V-Max weight vests and I have spent the summer using it as I perform agility drills, plyometrics, and run stadiums. I feel that your weight vest has helped add intensity to my conditioning sessions and will give me a competitive edge in the coming season. Our team has played in the last three state championship games, but have not brought home the "gold" yet.Although the vest will not win the championship for us, I beleive it will help contribute because I already feel as if I am jumping higher and moving faster due to the added resistance during my training sessions. V-Max is a great product, quality made and can help any athelete maximize their performance." -Kaitlin L., Savannah, Ga

"Hello my name is Chris and I saw a guy using the weight vest in the gym. He said he was training to be a firefighter. The vest looked so cool on him I just had to inquire about it. Besides I was at a plateau with my weight goal and needed a boost. I went on-line and purchased my 30 pound vest. I love it. I use it on the elliptical and went from 185lbs to 175lbs in 3 weeks. Since wearing my vest I've had one other person actually by one. She is about 60 years old and she just purchased her vest to help her with her gain great bone density to fight off osteoporosis. The Weight-Vest is awesome." -Chris. Oahu, Hawaii

"I purchased my weight vest this year to enable to get a good walking workout without running every day. At 49, running can be hard on the knees. Within 4 weeks, I was using the entire 25 pounds and walking 30 to 45 minutes 4 days per week. I have lost 14 pounds and am much leaner. The weightvest works. Everybody keeps telling that I am getting lean. I love my weightvest. I just started jogging on the treadmill using 20 pounds at various inclines. It's a great workout." -David B., CPA

"Hey Jeff, here is me with the weight vest on the treadmill. I wear it for my half hour run and it helps me to break a real good sweat! "I originally heard about weight vest training from some of the firemen I work with. I currently work in dispatch and will be attending fire academy starting in October. I have been using the vest when I climb stairs, climb 10-13% inclines on a treadmilll, and also just when going for a fast paced walk. It has really helped in my conditioning and I recommend it to anyone who will listen! Whether you use it for weight training or just walking, having the extra weight can truly help your cardiovascular health and your weight loss." -Amanda B., Olrando,FL

Yet, since using the weight vest, I have become more cut, more defined than ever before. The V-max weight vest has empowered me to reach another level as far as my strength, my cardio level, and my overall athletic performance. purchasing the V-max weight vest has been the best athletic equipment purchase I have ever made. Thanks so much,"

"HI Jeff, I use my 50lbs. V-Max for push-ups, squats, deadlifts, boxing, biking, walking and rope climbing. Not only has this vest help me pack on extra shoulder mass, increase leg strength and give me a great work-out but it has also helped my posture. "Dear WeightVest.com, I've been using your vest since the beginning of the year so that I can prepare for upcoming firefighter's physical agility tests that are coming up this year. I've lost 22 lbs. and by bodyfat% has dropped below 15% (down from 22%). I use the vest while I weight train and while I do my cardio work (lots of stairs!!). Thanks for making a great weight vest!!! I'll keep you updated when I get that "Badge". Thanks again!! -Ming. Fall River, MA

"I have been the proud owner of a V-Max women's 50 lb. weight vest for 5 days now and already I have renewed my sense of accomplishment in what were becoming my typical boring workouts. It's an invigorating to know that simple pleasures, like walking my dog, will now include a formidable calorie burn! During the past couple of months I have been distracted and lost my interest in endurance running... but the discovery of your weight vest has motivated me to re-commit to my goal of running the Catalina Island mountainous marathon in March of 2007. I know that I now have the tools needed to condition myself for such a challenging race. Thank you for the inspiration!!"

"Jeff, Here I am wearing your 60-lb "plate" vest. I didn't feel that I was getting a good workout when I walked with my wife, so I've added your vest to our walking routine.I have filled the vest with weights from home and additional weights from Walmart, just as your website suggested and I am impressed with the fit. The increased intensity of our walks has me considering the addition of my vest into my weight training. The obvious cardiovascular benefits has convinced my wife into buying a vest for herself. Thanks for a great product." - Chuck M., Colleyville, TX

Dear V-Max, "I am a mid-age cyclist that started cycling about 4 years ago to improve my overall health. The friends I cycle with are all younger and were all faster than me, especially when it came to hill climbing. I wanted so badly to be the first one to the top of the hill but it wasn't happening. I was always the last one to the top until I began secretly exercising with the V-Max weight vest. I simply began climbing stairs with 10, 15, 20 and finally 30 lbs of weight using my V-Max weight vest. I was surprised how quickly my climbing strength and cycling endurance increased by just adding 10 minutes of stair climbing a few days a week. I'm no longer the last one up the hill. I'm now the second best hill climber among my friends and my buddy that's first is very worried. I cannot imagine a sport that couldn't be helped by using one of your V-Max weight vests. Oh, I also recently climbed the stairs to the top of the worlds highest man made structure, the CN Tower in

Toronto - 1776 steps without stopping. I haven't told my friends my secret yet, but I suspect once they learn what I've been doing you will be selling 5 or 6 more weight vests. I plan to tell them at the top of the hill right after I'm the first one there. It won't be much longer!" -Brad W., Pasadena, Tx

Dear V-Max, "I use my weight vest to walk at a fast pace on the treadmill. Its great because my knees are not so great and the heavy pounding on them from fast running makes them hurt. The walking is much more gentle." -Bill K.

Dear V-Max, "Here's a picture of me wearing the WeightVest. I love it. I use it to warm up for a workout and often wear it for bodyweight exercises such as pullups, situps, pushups and dips. I also wear it running. The fit is great and I am very happy with your vest." -Dave S., Londenderry,NH

Dear V-Max, "I really appreciate the quality that goes into these vests! I recently purchased a 50 pound short vest in preparation for my boot-camp experience with the United States Coast Guard. Already I have noticed an increase in my 60 second push-up and sit-up drills and my mile and a half run is now under 13 minutes! This vest has become an invaluable part of my strength training and endurance routines. Attached is a photograph of my sister Sarah helping me out in the over-head sibling press portion of my sometimes unconventional workouts. Again, thank you for your outstanding service, the quality of these vests is unsurpassed!" -Kent Allen

"Jeff: Just finished my first month with your vest and it was everything you said it would be. My workouts are definitely more intense. I turn 62 in a few days and wanted to make some changes to my workout routine; the vest was the answer. I particularly like the way it feels. Enclosed is a picture. Not pretty but it was a good workout. Here on Kauai, where almost every day is like summer, it is easy to get up early in the morning and go for a long walk at the golf course. An excellent way to clear my mind for the rest of the day.
Thank you. Larry W. HI

"Hello, I love my weight vest. I received it about a month ago. I started out at 15lbs and I am now up to 25lbs. I speed walk 4 miles a day with my weight vest on and WOW what a great workout. I recommend it for everybody. Thanks weight vest." - Kevin C, Wisconsin.

"Hi Jeff, My name is Doug Jost, and I am a 39 year old Canadian Naval Officer stationed in Quebec City, Quebec Canada. I received my new 50lb short Weightvest about 2 weeks ago, and have just started to use it. Here I am in action in our gym. Bar none, this is one of the highest quality pieces of athletic gear that I have ever seen, let alone used! It's early days now, but I can see myself 6 months down the road well on my way toward achieving my athletic goals through continued use of this vest. (40 is coming up soon, and I want to look good in that red sports car that one gets when achieving this age.) I look forward to sending you further updates on my progress as time goes by. Thanks again for the terrific product!"
Sincerely, Doug J., Quebec, CAN

Dear Jeff, I work with special education children and some children with autism wear weighted vests to assist them with their comfort level and sensitivity. Seeing this presented me the idea of using the vest for personal fitness as I never had experience with using one before. Shortly afterwards, I discovered that my co-worker and good friend Justin used a 22 lb Ringside Weighted Vest to jog. One day I went jogging with him (he wore a vest and I did not) and found that I was unable to keep up with him despite not having any additional encumbrance.
|
 |
|
Feeling disappointed at my level of endurance, I decided to take action to start a exercise routine to improve my life. At first, I borrowed Justin's Ringside weighted vest for jogging and it worked fine however it was bulky and didn't fit as comfortable as I wished. I also used a rough homemade vest using a heavy duty cotton flak vest and inserting small metal dumbbell weights into the pockets. This also worked fine but only up to a limit as the balance and feel were also inadequate. After a few weeks of using both vests I felt that I wanted a better product. I did a search online and found the V-Max website. I thoroughly reviewed and critiqued the information presented and felt no need to look further. The testimonials, clear photos, and well written descriptions were enough to persuade me in making a purchase (after a friendly discussion with the Mrs. aka The Boss!). I decided to purchased the 50 lb short weighted vest and it greatly assisted me in my exercise routines. I am impressed with the high quality and the overall feel of this fine item. It is exactly as advertised on the website by Jeff. Normally, I use 30 lbs to jog and the full 50 lbs to walk. I felt the positive effects immediately as the vest truly maximizes my workouts. I have also incorporated the various exercises presented in the color diagram that came with the vest. By utilizing these exercises I have lost 25 lbs to date and noticed a significant increase in stamina. The walking and jogging alone has conditioned my legs, shoulders, and some back muscles without any additional exercises. Without a doubt this is one of the absolute best passive workout pieces of equipment to augment fitness levels. I highly recommend this outstanding product to anybody looking to gradually improve the quality of their health,(2 thumbs up).
Thanks for your time and please enjoy the holiday weekend.
Sincerely, Franklin T.

"Like most people who are trying to balance a hectic schedule that includes family, work and fitness, my time is very important to me. My V-Max weight vest allows me to make the most of my workouts. Using the vest, I can work toward my strength and stamina goals with maximum efficiency. While the possibilities are virtually endless with this vest, as you can see, my playground is a set of bleachers. I can honestly say that if I had to narrow my fitness equipment choices down to only one piece, the V-Max 50-pound vest would be my ultimate selection. Thanks for offering such a wonderful product to those of us serious about our health. Clint B.

Jeff, "I really enjoyed speaking with you about your product before ordering and look forward to using my vest to keep fit. I am a career Police Officer in my 40's and need to work extra hard to keep fit not only for my own well being, but to insure my best for the people who depend on me when they need me the most during my work day. I am 5'10" and try hard to stay at about 165lb's and your vest (50lb short vest) fits me well and distributes the weight evenly for maximum comfort. Take care and keep an eye out for my next order which is the hydration attachment which I should have ordered with the vest!"
Thanks again, Adrian B.

"Hi Weightvest - I got your vest and it has done wonders and its challenging. I usually hike a mountain out here in Phoenix name Camelback Mountain and it usually takes me 1:15 minutes to get up the mountain. With the vest, woo it takes at little longer after 4 weeks of use I've lost 15 pounds and it only takes me 45 minutes without the vest what a difference. I felt so light wanted to go up twice but didn't. I wish I knew about the vest sooner would done wonders in High School or College." Thanks, Weightvest! - Raul M.

"I have spent the last year researching Companies that make weight vests, medical research and success stories regarding the use of the vest and how it has impacted the user. I am a former US Marine who was using an assault Vest filled with sand to exercise with. The assault vest was just not getting me the results I wanted. One day I was joking with my wife about buying the V-Max weight vest knowing she would not approve it. She jokingly approved the purchase of the vest, and of course I took advantage of her yes. I bought the 100 lb V-Max short vest so that I can always increase my training programs with more weight. Wow I was shocked to find out just how well your vest is made. I would consider your vest a higher quality then any Tactical gear I used in the United States Marine Corps."

“I am Kent Durso, age 60. I am three time World Highland Games Champion, Masters class. I currently hold five world records in the 55plus category. Last December, I was told by my physician to lose some weight or explode. I weighed 270 and although quite strong (full squat 500lbs, press 255 x 3) I was not a healthy camper. The doctor recommended walking as exercise, at least 20 minutes a day, three times a week. I hate walking and jogging, etc. I am “a natural sprinter, very dangerous over short distances". So I decided to make a weightlifting exercise out of walking and began investigating weighted vests to enable that pursuit, which is how I found you boys and your terrific V-Max vests. I purchased the 75lb long, and as I had already started with a homemade (a soft cooler stuffed with five pound plates, strapped to my back) I was able to load the V-max to 40lbs as soon as it arrived. I began gradually working up, one bar weight at a time. I was making great progress,
|
 |
|
and shed 20lbs quickly. Then I had surgery to repair a rotator cuff, which was successful, and a ruptured bicep, which was not. As soon as I could support the pressure of the V-max, I was walking again, much to my surgeon's irritation. However, nothing was going to keep me from my weight vest walks, and the progress I knew I could continue. I walked for several weeks with my arm strapped to my chest, to secure the rotator cuff, the vmax vest overlaying it carefully. The vest is so well balanced, I was able to sustain the weight and even increase it gradually. The shoulder has now healed and I have been continuing my walks, and have lost 38lbs. Blood pressure is down noticeably and strength is up. Also my endurance is way, way up and I feel quicker and healthier. I have maxed out my V-max vest, 75lbs, and have just this day ordered the 25lb attachment from you fellows. I walk a quarter of a mile down my property, lower myself by rope into the river bed and walk about fifty feet to the water edge. Then I turn and sprint to the rope, pull myself up the bank, run about 75 feet across our picnic area, then up another embankment. I stop and pick up a heavy (125lbs) stone and carry it fifty feet. All that is one rep. I do three. Then I walk back the quarter mile to the house, take the blankety-blank vest off as quickly as possible, and fall down and rest. A cold beer usually follows shortly thereafter. This is great stuff for an old geezer like me.“ Best regards, Kent D. F.

“Besides my Fire it up Training System", I coach Girls Lacrosse. The team I have been cultivating for the past 3 years is built on commitment, hard work, talent, strength and conditioning. "The weightvest has given me the options I need for quick, convenient yet effective workouts. Since fire fighters work wearing up to 50 or more pounds of gear, the weightvest allows me to simulate gym activities that we actually perform on the fire ground. Right now, I am training for the Fire Fighter Combat Challenge and running stairs with the weight vest is like being in full bunker gear. On light days, I can very easily remove the weights. Thanks to the Weight Vest I can train with unmatched comfort, versatility and convenience. It is absolutely the best." (Juliet's Fire training tip)

"I have tried your weight vest for several weeks now and I must tell you that this is the finest resistance equipment I have ever used! The materials and construction are impressive, even to the most critical eye. The Hydration Pack with the easy-to-use Bite-Me valve worked flawlessly. Changing weight is as easy as 1-2-3. The real value to the weight vest is the positive way you can change the way your body looks by putting on the weight vest and climbing stairs, doing lunges and squats and push-ups. Congradulations on a great piece of exercise equipment!"

"My new vest is absolutely wonderful! I am 58 years of age and in decent shape. I was with the 2/5 Cav in Southeast Asia back in the days (?). My adopted son Foster Lee Harrington was a Sgt with the 3rd Re con Company of the 4th Marines. He was killed in action on the 20th of September 2004. He and I always tried to work out as hard as we were able. After his funeral, I made a promise to him that I would do all my workouts and running with my pack on. I have been running with 47 pounds of water in a Camel back Mother Lode Pack but it was not balanced by any means. I had to buy several "unbottles" to fill the pack the way it needed to be and then I ran across your advertisement in Backpacker magazine. Best purchase I have made in recent years. But I will tell you, it is HOT here in south Florida! People think I am crazy but my son is now on constant watch from above and it makes me so proud to be able to keep that silent promise.

"Hello everyone out there! My name is Walter Small and I want to share my story of how the weight vest allowed me to play basketball again. I was a former athlete who went from 215 pounds to 160 pounds as a result of Lupus Disease. I used my vest to power walk to keep the impact low on my knees while building my stamina. Soon I gained strength which has allowed me to dunk on opponents like I used to when I played competitively. My Weight Vest allows me to throw down thunderous dunks. Thank you weight vest for giving me back my strength." Sincerely, Walter S.

"I am currently in the Navy assigned to Guam. This past summer while deployed to Haiti with the Marine Corps I would walk one hour each day using our bullet proof vest using SAPI titanium plates weighing approx 22 lbs. Upon my return I ordered the V-Max vest to continue my power walks. In the short 6 weeks of using the 40lb V-Max vest I have lost 8lbs. I walk each day for 1 hour usually averaging about 3 miles per walk. The V-Max is constructed very well and easy to use. The beauty of this style vest is that you can start out with 5 to 10lbs and quickly work up to the 40lb level. I am getting ready to give my wife this vest and will soon order the 75lb vest. Thanks so much for your great product."

"Dear Jeff, Received my WeightVest in December and have been training with it 4-5 days a week. Here I am snowshoeing in 14 inches of snow with 40 pounds of weight. Talk about a burn in the calves. Bought the weightvest mainly to train for backpacking trips to save the wear and tear on my backpacks and it has worked out great. Snowshoeing was an after thought and it is a great training method. Thanks for a great product that is superbly built and the design is exactly what I was looking for. Even a 55 year old man can wear this vest comfortably while training. Thanks again for a great product."

"Thank you V-Max, I love my new Weight Vest. The vest is just what I was looking for. I looked at a few other vests, but they were too long for my use. The reason I ordered your vest is for Jogging and it works perfect. It's a short vest and it doesn't ride on my "fat" stomach which I'm trying to lose. It also fits comfortable. I would love to wear one of your tee shirts with my new vest. (hint) XXL Thanks again V-Max."

"Great Product so far! I received my V-Max Weight Vest on time and began using it right away. I currently follow the training program that was included In the box with the vest. I look forward to using the training programs you promise to post on your website @ www.weightvest.com as mentioned on the homepage. I also use the vest with the inversion exercises I had been doing. Inverted situps, sidebends, and squats have a new dimension added with the weighted vest on. I hope to be wearing a new Weightvest.com T-shirt (Large) very soon. Thanks for the great product. It helps me feel like I am in my twenties, in my forties!"

"My name is Steven R. ... since the birth of my son I have gained around 100 lbs. I have been dieting and working out (running & weights). And with all that working out I lost 40 lbs and running became much easier. So I decided I needed a weight vest to make running more difficult. I loved the resistance the vest provided for me. I have used it for the last 2 weeks and my running has improved and so has my back. I broke my back 3yrs ago and it gives me trouble when I hold my son. Since I have been using the vest during my workouts it has made my son feel a lot lighter on my back. My son is 1yrs old on May 7th he weighs 29 lbs. Any way I love this vest and would recommend it to anyone who runs." Thanks, Steven R.

“My name is Lee Beaumont and I use my weight vest primarily to run stairs. You can see a 10,000 seat basketball arena behind me where I train. It has 27 flights, 3,400 stairs and is about 1.9 miles around if you run all the stairs. I train with anywhere from 20 lbs to 75 lbs and run 1-2 laps depending on my training schedule. After using the vest for about 4-5 weeks my best time running the stairs without weight dropped over 3 minutes. My legs are stronger than ever before and I had a 40" vertical in college so that is saying something for a 36 year old guy. I would recommend the V-Max weight vest for anyone looking to build strength and stamina.”

“I purchased my V-Max Weight Vest with conditioning in mind. I am 41 and train with the goal of increasing core trength and cardio stamina. As you can see in the photo I like to use various types of resistance including natural things like river rock for a punishing workouts. During my routine such as the over-head rock press I keep the V-Max Weight Vest on to add even more resistance. My only regret is not purchasing a 100 lb. V-Max Weight Vest!!!"

"Jeff,
Just wanted to drop a note and let you know how much I enjoy the vest I bought a few months ago. It has really elevated my pain threshold and I have been able to reduce the amount of time I spend doing some of my sets in the gym; I can go straight from the pullup bar, to the dip bar, to incline situps, blah blah blah. The list goes on and on. It's actually almost a hastle to wear the thing becuase I constantly get a stream of people asking me about where I got it or what I think about it. I usually don't recommend any type of workout equipment becuase I think everyone has their own style and should pave their own way, but as long as people keep asking me what I think about my V-Max, i'll be sure to send them your way. Thanks again." R, - Chase Derbin

"I purchased the V-max 50lb short. The day it arrived the mailman complained and asked my wife if there was a dead body in the box. When I pulled it out I could tell imediately that it was the real deal. This thing looks and feels like a piece of tough military tactical gear. I left 20lbs in it (heeding the warning not to overdo it initially) and went walk/running for 4.5 miles and and was convinced before the end of the first mile that my purchase was a good one. I'm a 39yo male at 230lbs I typically work out with body weight excercises or with weights during the day and then walk/run or bike in the evening. With that routine one would think my metabolism would be high. Adding 20lbs to my walk/run routine alone has sent my motabolism into overdrive. In 4 days I've dropped 8lbs (only used the vest 3 of the 4 days). Not bad considering I've been eating like a horse. What will happen when I put real weight on it?" -Kip, Tulsa

"I was surfing the web and came across your page ... I wanted to let you know that this is one of the most resourceful and authoritative pages I have seen on weight vests. I really liked the testimonials too. It seems a lot of people found results using them. My friend was telling me how when he was in full hockey gear he burned a lot more fat off and I could see how that would work but it is unrealistic to suit up all the time but your vests seem really easy to put on. I used to play football and found a minor increase in loss but football equipment is not nearly that heavy. These look like a worthwhile alternative to suiting up in full body equipment. I have a site called Fitness Gear 101, and it provides information about cardio equipment, fitness accessories and workout routines. I thought I would write to suggest it as a resource for your users for the cardio and fitness side of using the vest. Thanks for taking the time to read my message, and for having such an excellent site. Kind Regards, Michael Tinnes, Assistant Editor

"Hi!! I received my weighted vest last week, and I just wanted to let you know how much I love it already!! It fits like a glove, is beautifully made, and I'm sure that it will last me for a very very long time!! It's everything that a person could ask for in a weighted vest!! I also wanted to thank you for being so fast with the shipping, especially to Canada!! It usually tends to take a really long time for items to reach us, but it arrived very quickly!! Thank you so much, A happily satisfied customer." - D. Harris

A friend told me about your website so I checked it out and ordered the 50 pound weightvest. "Excellent! I have used everything from kettlebells to hi-tech workout equipment and I see how great this product is. I can't wait to back in the gym tommorow and push that weight around. Great product!"

Jeff, I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with your product and service! Your firefighter trainer vests are very durable and more comfortable than any other we have experienced. We like them so much that we encourage all the trainees and fire departments and wildland firefighting agencies that we work with to order them. It has made my own training much more comfortable and effective. In fact, we became tired of trying to keep track of the pair we received - too many people wanting to use them at once! - that we re-ordered another pair from you. We ordered the second pair on Monday (May 28), and didn't think that we would receive them in time for our Pack Test this Saturday because we ordered them too late, but because you put them in the mail that day, we received them today (Friday) - just in time! Thank you for such a great product. Sincerely, Loretta A. Leist The Nature Conservancy

"I have finished running my first test with the V-Max women's vest over the last 30 days. I had a group of 3(41 yr female, 62 yr male, 61 yr female). On Dec 27th, each recorded a best effort 1/4 mile walk. They then participated in a series of training sessions where they walked at least 3 miles and the 61 yr female (181 lbs) trained with the vest (7 1/2 lbs). My decision was to put 1 lb of lead weight for every 25 lbs of body weight. All 3 were in good fitness condition and worked out on a regular basis. The 41 yr female and 62 yr male completed 14 sessions of 3 mile training and the 61 yr female completed 11 sessions. On Jan 26 each redid the 1/4 mile best effort walk. The male and 41 yr female each improved by 3 and 2 sec respectively (each about 1%). The 61 yr female (vest training) improved by almost 16 sec for a 6% improvement. They all did their other cardio and strength training together without the vest. I will continue to run other tests during the upcoming months and refine my protocols."

"How long would you estimate the shipping to be? I am rather excited to start using it. Just so you all know......I went downtown Chicago on a train last week to see a girl of mine right........The next day was a running day for me so after I got off the train I ran from the train station to my condo in cold snowy conditions with boots on and a full backpack. The total distance is 4 1/2 miles. It took me an hour and when I finally got home I weighed myself with all my gear and it was 33 lbs! I recovered for two days, then ran again. It was unreal how fast I was moving and how low my heart rate stayed. This is what prompted me to research weighed vests. I came to the conclusion that yours was the best quality and purchased it. I will also be using it for jumping rope, all my isotonic training, and replacing some of my weight training movements. Don't be surprised if I order another for my father. I am trying to convince him to get one ASAP. He has a bad lower back, flabby belly, and could afford to lose about 30lbs. You have any articles with a medical back up proving the weighted vest, please feel free to send them my way. Thanks again. I'm sure you'll be hearing from me after I actually start using it!"

" ...I just ordered your 75 lb. long vest and I can't wait to get it! One year ago I started walking with a weight vest. I started at 20 and went up to 40. Now it's too light so I'm ordering the 75 lb. vest. I have lost 100 lbs. and I feel fantastic!!! I have so much energy and I'm so strong! A couple of years ago I read an article in a woman's magazine. It recommended wearing a back-pack with a 10 lb. weight in it to increase your heart rate and burn more calories. I took this one step further and bought a 40 lb. weight vest. At the time I purchased my vest, 40 was the largest I could find. I walk 5-6 days a week for 30 mins. Every other day is leg day so I strap on 10 to 15 lbs. per leg in addition to the 40 lb. vest. I lost 5 pant sizes in 3 months! I lost 70 lbs. in 6 months! I do not starve. I EAT! Walking with a vest gets you to your target heart rate in no time and you sweat! It is low impact because you don't have to run or power walk to feel it working. A comfortable pace is all you need to do. Going on the treadmill at the gym is even better because you can maintain a certain speed and add an incline (leg days). I really think weight vests are the best exercise equipment you can buy, especially for women. I have purchased so many different pieces of exercise equipment and wasted so much money. With a vest all you need to do is strap it on and walk for 30 mins. That's it! Anytime. Anywhere. I can honestly say I use my weight vest all the time. I never go to the gym without it."

"The weight vest that I ordered arrived exactly as promised. I am very pleased with the quality construction. I have already started to use it in some fitness research that I am conducting in my wellness center. I am working with seniors so it should be some interesting results. Thanks again!"

"Good Morning, I talked with you several weeks ago about my client base and you mentioned that you do have relationships with people for referrals. This week there will be two referrals, Pam S. and Norella D. Please let me know if you need any other information.
We talked about so much that day and I promised you a testimonial. My back muscles, going to Africa and being able to swing myself up on the high side of the jeep with a back pack and something in my arms, my upper torso is much straighter, my shape is different, I am definitely a six now with more straightness to my thighs and best of all my two mile a day walk starts me off with a sense of strength…I have never been strong.
Best,
