This book by Gene Wilson is a fine piece of writing that will appeal to a number of people whether they enjoy sports or not. Gene takes the readers on a journey with Bob Kap, a former soccer star and coach and the man who actually introduced soccer-style kicking to the NFL in the early ’70s. When Kap lured Tony Fritsch from Vienna to kick for the Cowboys, I was an assistant football coach at the University of Oklahoma. It seems like yesterday. Almost every kicker uses this style today. Gene makes a very important point that a woman may soon become a kicker in the NFL or another professional league. The book is also a must for any young kicker who is out to improve his or her game. If you learn just one thing from this work, then it will have been worth the price.
I think you will enjoy the book. It will be interesting to see if a woman can make it in the NFL. Who knows what the future holds?
