Swan Valley, with over 400 miles of groomed trails, truly is a winter wonderland for snow machine adventurers.

However, this pristine scenic valley in East Central Idaho, which is world-renown for its premier dry fly fishing on the South Fork of the Snake River, remains a virtual unknown playground for white powder recreation.

The two primary accesses to the snowmobile trail system that takes sledders into the upper reaches of Bonneville and Bingham Counties are Fall Creek on the West end of the valley and the Palisades Dam access at the East end, both of which are just off of Highway 26.

Regardless of entry to the trail system, this beautiful landscape also serves as home for trumpeter swans, sand hill cranes, moose, elk, white tail and mule deer, osprey, bald eagles and an assortment of other animal wildlife.

The Fall Creek trail head and off-loading at its parking lot near the falls can be reached by entering Snake River Road at the Spring Creek Bridge that spans the South Fork on the western end of town. This trail head offers departures for both Northwest and Southeast paths.
