Tom and I have several Email accounts that all forward into the main account. We were receiving 200-300 spam a day. Now we feel lonesome. We're lucky to get 5 emails a day thanks to the new spam tool.
Dan       boomindan@yahoo.com 1-12-2007 1:38 PM
Hmmmm....I actually have seen just the opposite. We've had the same email account for over 2 years. If we got 3 spams a month that was a lot. And we also have multiple addresses for our different locations that were that way too.

Now, with in just the past couple months, our spam has went to dozens EVERY day.

Not to mention the spamming now of our forms that we never had a problem with before and that I still can't get a response from EZ-Net on.

Ryan, I just got your email. You hit the nail on the head regarding the Tools. Since I can't get a response from EZ-Net do you have any ideas on how to thwart the spamming of our forms? Or anyone else for that matter?

See my response from Form Builder Spam, e.g. change the form name, webpage name and/or the form email address.

I doubt it'd stop the spammers but I would imagine it it'd slow them down.

Keith,

I did see your other post. Unfortunately, it's not a possibility for this business.

I'm thinking about adding some JS and a check box that must be checked before being able to be submitted. The spam seems good at being able to fill out text fields but having to check a box may do something to keep the form from submitting. Having a pop up say that you must check the box. We'll see.

Java script, eh? I didn't think about that although since you mentioned it, on one form page I have it's just the regular set up however on another form page it has a bit of java where you have to click a check box (agree to terms) before the submit button is activated.

The spam I get is from the non-java page so I believe you've got a good idea.

For the email spam, are you using the new tool? If not, you need to ask support to add it to your account. It is not the old filtering tool. It is new, you select the messages and click on spam or not spam. This takes about a week or two of going to ez-online mail and working it but it's worth it in the end. 200-300 a day go directly to trash and never load into outlook. In the beginning scan your trash to make sure you don't loose anything important. Check those messages and mark not spam. Also purge the trash when you check it.

Actually Connie.....that filter's pretty old. I've been marking my emails spam or not spam for at least a year I think...maybe even two. That was my point. It used to work good, it still does get some, but not anything like it did 4-5 months ago.

My spam folder would be packed and it did a good job of not marking good mail as spam. Now, the spam folder only gets a few a day while my inbox gets packed.

I check over 15 EZ-Online mail accounts a day in addition to my personal 7. Not all from the same domain either. Several different businesses.

Almost all have experienced the same thing. However my personal accounts have not. I have them thru yahoo, hotmail, google, and my isp.

I know spam is ever increasing but this was a significant change in only a matter of days. I just don't see how my EZ accounts were so hard hit but not my others. It also coincided with my form spam. All I seem to get from ICServ is articles from news organizations about spam.

I really liked the system and how well it worked before. Just hoping to see that again sometime soon.

Spammers are such low life (this word censored)!

Connie,

Here's more info on the current spam filter:

http://www.eznetadvantage.com/0404/SpamFilter.html

After reading the article I guess it's been close to 3 years I've been using it now.

I'm surprised. I thought I was betas testing it last summer. I geuss what works for some doesn't work for all. I went to ezonline mail this morning. It had been 48 hrs since last time. I had 234 spam in trash and 5 emails in my inbox of which 1 was new spam. No doubt you have asked support about it. Tom's filter wasn't working and they fixed it a few weeks ago, now it's working as mine is.
Connie

It depends on what site you visit but try #FF2903 and #000066.
