Setting Up a Simple Catalog
5. Linking to Your Catalog Pages.

The last step necessary to sell your products on-line is to display your products.  You need to have previously entered your category and product information for the following instructions to work.

There are three ways to display the products in your catalog.

  • First, you can display them by categories in pages that EZ-NetTools® will generate for you.  This is the most common way and the way that we will show you in this course.
  • Second, you can display your products in a single list of all your products in what we call a "secure order form."  Creating that link is similar to the first.
  • Finally, you can create a product block in EZ-PageBuilder.  This later display format will not be covered in this basic course.

There are many ways to link to your Category list of products.  In this example, we will create the link from a "Button Builder" block in EZ-PageBuilder. In real practice, you can link to your catalog anywhere you can put a link using EZ-NetTools.   The introductory course to page builder used this block to build the buttons in the simple page.

Enter "EZ-PageBuilder" from the Construction Tools menu.

Choose the page you want the link on.  If you only have one page then choose "Work on Home Page." Click the "Continue" button.

While editing or creating a Button Builder block, click on the "Browse" button next to the "link" box for the button you want. (Remember we are only using the Button Builder Block as an example.  You can create this link in nearly all of the PageBuilder Blocks that have links.)

In the "Browse" window, choose the "/system" folder found at the end of the "Look in" drop down menu.
The list of files in the system folder will include the categories you have created in EZ-Catalog.
Select the category by clicking on the category name. Click Open. In the example above you can see Shirts, Pants, or Shoes. On your account, you will see the names of the categories you have created.

Click "Submit" found at the bottom of the Bulleted Text block.

Save the page by choosing save under the "File" drop down menu.

View the page using "View Current". Click on the button to make sure that it works.

Exit the page by clicking "Exit" from the "File" drop down list.
