Lawn and Garden Tools
Size and Storage: When choosing lawn and garden tools, take into consideration the size of your lawn and garden space, and also the amount of space you have to store the tools when finished and through the winter.

Garden Hoses: Garden hoses are made using two different materials, either vinyl or rubber. Vinyl hoses are less expensive, lighter and easy to handle. Rubber or rubber reinforced hoses are more expensive, but they are more durable and are less likely to kink or break. The strength of the hose is determined by the number of layers or ply that it has, usually 1 to 6 ply. The most common diameter sizes of hose are 3/4" and 5/8". Usually, garden hose length is sold in increments of 25 feet, up to 100 feet.

Winterizing: Don't forget to winterize your outdoor tools and appliances. Drain the water from hoses before storing away, empty the gas tanks of lawnmowers and weed whackers, rust-proof any tool that may be exposed to rain or snow, and oil other parts that may lock up over time.
