Windows and Doors
Replacing Windows: One of the greatest reasons for replacing windows is to increase energy efficiency of a home, especially for heating or cooling purposes. You have the option of either replacing the window sash with one of the exact same size, or replacing the entire window with a new one.

Exterior Doors: One of the most popular types of exterior door is wooden, mainly because of its look and feel. They can also be stained or painted and are easier to include decorative glass. However, they are very expensive and are subject to shrinking and swelling from the weather. Other alternatives for exterior doors include steel, which is the most popular, very energy efficient and resistant to weather factors, or fiberglass, which has many of the same advantages of steel and can be stained to resemble wood. However, fiberglass doors are the most expensive.

Storm Doors and Windows: Most storm doors can be purchased in prehung kits, and some may feature additional security such as protective grilles and deadbolt locks. It may also be a good idea to purchase a screen to fit into the window during the summer. The space between the two doors can heat up like a greenhouse in the summer if exposed to direct sun and can quickly deteriorate the weatherstripping. Fiberglass screens resist corrosion and are easy to install if a metal replacement screen wears out.
