Authorize.Net Announces Security Changes

On May 17, 2002, the credit card processing gateway, Authorize.net, sent a notice to all of their customers with the subject of “New Authorize.Net Security Requirement.” The purpose of the email was to inform their customers who used the WebLink or the ADC Relay response methods of some additional configuration information that will be required by May 28, 2002.

EZ-NetTools communicates with Authorize.net using a DIFFERENT method, one called the ADC Direct Response method. Therefore, these instructions are not applicable to EZ-NetTools customers who use Authorize.Net as their gateway.

EZ-NetTools uses the method Authorize.Net recommends and prefers. Eventually all of their customers will be required to use this method. Authorize.Net also recommends that you use the “Password Required” option. Several weeks ago we sent an email to all customers recommending that you configure these options on your Authorize.net account. (Refer to this
update from the EZ-NetTools help site: Click here.)

All of the changes that Authorize.net has made since the first of the year are designed to enhance
the security of online credit card processing. EZ-NetTools supports and applauds these efforts to
improve the security and consequently the confidence of the internet.
