Resource Limits Enforced

Prior to April 22, 2002, most of the limits to resource usage of EZ-NetTools were not enforced with the exception of the number of email accounts. After this date, a number of other limits were enforced, principly, the amount of disk storage. The typical account has a limit of 50 megabytes, which is enough for hundreds of pages and thousands of pictures. Thus, for the majority of accounts this limit is not a big issue.
While not effective at this time, eventually, there will be a limit on the band width used by an account. However, unlike the disk space usage, the system will allow an account to exceed the band width limit and the account will be charged for the extra usage. The band width usage will be set high. The main purpose of this limit is for those who have a large number hits (such as 100,000 hits per hour) to help cover the costs required to handle such usage. Often this traffic comes in spike, that is for just short periods of time. However, we must provide the resources require to meet this level of traffic so that our other accounts do not suffer response time degradation.
We are not imposing new resource limits or constraints (with the exception of the bandwidth usage constraint.) The majority of accounts should not notice any problems with the limits. Those who do, we will try to provide competitive solutions.
