In May 2004, we added a new block to EZ-Nettools called the advanced text block. At the same time we renamed the existing Text Block as the simple text block to distinguish between the two. There were a few minor problems with the Advanced Text block, so we did not formal announce the change until the June issues of the EZ-NetAdvantage. The new block looks and functions like a word processor. The current Text Block remains unchanged because it is much simpler to use and to remain compatible with existing pages. Consequently, both will available.

The Advanced Text block functions very much like a word processor. You can adjust the font face, size, and color within the block. You can insert links and graphics right in the text. You can create tables and indented list. You can even display the HTML and tweak the codes yourself if you wish. It is a very powerful tool. In fact, with this one block, you can do many of the functions that are found in the other blocks.

Since the Advanced Text Block functions like most word processors and we assume those who will use it are quite computer literate, we will only develop minimal help text to explain its functions.

The programs for this block are based on open source programs. In order to maintain capability with future enhancements, we modified the code as little as possible. Consequently, you may notice a slight difference in how it looks and feels. For example, the color picking pages are a little different from what you will find in other parts of EZ-NetTools. Also, because of the advanced nature of these programs, it will only function in the most recent and updated browsers. We felt this departure from our normal practice was justified because of the great benefit it will provide to our more advanced customers.
