Unassigned Category in Catalog

In the catalog tool, an unassigned category is now available. Prior to adding more flexibility to the category features of the catalog we needed to provide away to preserve catalog items when a category is deleted. Prior to this change, if a category were deleted, all items in the catalog associated with this category were also deleted. With this update, when a category is deleted, the items associated with the category now become associated with the unassigned category. Hence, you do not lose anything. If you wish, you can then reassign these items to other categories.

While items in the unassigned category still exist in your catalog, they are not always viewable on your site. If you have linked to an item using a catalog block in page builder, the items will function exactly as before. However, if you use the price list in you site, the items in the unassigned category will not display.
