Integration of Google Analytics
With EZ-NetTools

INTRODUCTION
Google Analytics is a free, feature rich resource for counting how many visitors come to your web site along with information about them. Because this service is so good, it made no sense for us to try to duplicate the features. Instead, we have now made it easy to incorporate Google Analytics into your web site.
EZ-NetTools has always had a tool for measuring traffic to your web site called EZ-Counters. The advantage of this tool is that it was automatically built in and simple to understand. However, it does not provide the breadth of information that Analytics does.
WHAT IS GOOGLE ANALYTICS?
Google analytics is a service you must sign up for with Google. It is an absolutely free service. This service will provide the following information.
How many hits you are getting on your web pages on a daily basis, shown graphically.
- Where the visitors came from, other sites or from search engines.
- How long the visitors stayed on your pages.
- Some indication of how the visitors moved around your web site.
- Very professional graphics and other reports.
- Analytics integrates tightly with Google’s pay per click program, Adwords.
You will need to sign up for a Google account. Then you will be given account number that will look something like UA-169999-9. This is the only information you will need to configure EZ-NetTools.
CONFIGURE GOOGLE ANALYTICS IN EZ-NETTOOLS
You configure your Analytics code in the Edit Global Information tool. You will find the link to this tool in the Construction tab. Once you click on the Edit Global Information link, you will find a section labeled Google Analytics about half way down the page. Enter you Analytics account number in the field and then submit. That is all. EZ-NetTools will insert the required HTML code.
Once you have completed your configuration, the necessary code will be placed on all pages in your web site including pages built with EZ-Pagebuilder, those generated by EZ-Catalog, and by EZ-Directory. Note, if you have created your own pages with some program other than the EZ-Nettools, you will need to add the appropriate HTML code provided by Google.
SUMMARY
We would strongly encourage you to take advantage the this free service provided by Google. You will have at your finger tips a wealth of helpful information. As good as Analytics is don’t dismiss EZ-Counters altogether. I still find EZ-Counters helpful because it is quick, simple, and easy to get an overview of all of my pages.
