Independent Notification Methods
During the winter of 2009/2010, EZ-NetTools has experienced an unusually high number of outages due to power and ISP interruptions. Besides affecting web and email traffic, the interruptions often would after our phone system. Prior to this period, outages were so rare, we had not felt a need to set up an alternate method of communication to and from our customers. We are working to mitigate the impact of these interruptions by providing redundant systems. However, these events highlighted the need for alternative ways of communicating the status of the EZ-NetTools systems. We have selected two alternative and independent system.

First, we have established a web page hosted on an independent system. We have chosen to use Godaddy for this service because we have had a long relationship with them as a reseller of domain names. The address to this status page is www.eznetstatus.com. This web site will provide status information and also the best contact phone numbers to reach us in a crisis.

Second, we have created a Twitter account. We will use this account to also send posts of status information. This resource will probably have the most current information. The website will have more information.

We hope that our efforts to resolve the interruptions will result in little use of these systems. But since no system is perfect, it will still be of service.
