I began remodeling in 1974 right out of high school, working for Carleton Restaurant Services. I spent the next 4 years working for different remodeling companies in various niches, which added to my experience in wide variety of settings. In 1978 I formed Elite Construction and engaged in small remodeling projects. It was when I formed Elite Construction that I gained exposure to the "business side". In 1990 I joined forces with another contractor to form Kraftwerks Remodeling Inc. which allowed us to engage much larger projects. I built my first home in 1990 and continued to build one a year until 1995 when I formed Majestic Home Builders Inc. In the next 14 years I built over 125 single family homes and project manged single and multi-family home projects for other builders. Recovering from the home building depression that started in the late 2000's I formed Contractor John Inc. in 2011. It was then that I branched out into the internet starting my Blog Home Repair Helpers and my very successful Contractor John YouTube channel. In 2014 I wrote my first book "The Dimension Bible for Remodelers and DIYers".

I have gained invaluable experience, working in the field for over 40 years. I don't believe you can see it all, but I sure have seen a lot. Combing the field experience, college and industry specific classes with excellent problem solving and communication skills, you get Contractor John.
