Updates to EZ-PageBuilder
On April 26, 2010,  we made some changes to user interface of EZ-PageBuilder and added a few enhancements.

EZ-PAGEBUILDER START UP PAGE

We have changed the look and feel of the start up page of EZ-PageBuilder.  We have made each option a link.  Instead of being a selection followed by a function button, you can now execute the function directly.  As a result you will save one click each time you come to this page.

TITLE AND GRAPHIC BLOCKS - OPEN NEW PAGE OPTION

The Title and Graphic blocks have a new option labeled “Open in new window.”  When this option is selected, a new window or tab will be opened, leaving the original page still open.  This is very useful when you do not want the visit to leave and forget the original page.  This could be used when you want to pop open and informational page or provide a link to an associated website, but want the visitor to be able to quickly and easily get back to your website.  This has been a very commonly requested update.

LINK TO ORIGINAL PAGE FROM MIRROR BLOCK

Mirror blocks have been one of the most useful blocks within EZ-PageBuilder.  However, one frustration is flipping back and forth between the mirror block and the source page.  Now, while you are editing the mirror block, you can link directly to the associated source page.  The current page will be saved in the process if necessary.  This will be a great time saver.

PAGE OPTIONS

The Page Option section as been expanded and reorganized.  More and more advanced pages are using html and javascript.
  • So we have expanded these areas so that more of the code is visible.
  • We have reorganized the options on the page. Some of the less used features have been compressed and placed at the bottom of the page. Two, sidebar and frames, of these are no longer recommended for use.  We have kept the options for backwards compatibility purposes.
  • We have added a feature for specifying the DOCTYPE of the page. Normally, leave this option on the default, Quirks Mode.   If you do not know what this is, you can and should ignore this feature.  Some more advanced and feature rich web pages function better when a different doctype is specified.  For example, some features used by style sheets perform better in more browsers when the Standards Mode is selected.  WARNING.  We have found that some features of EZ-PageBuilder behave unpredictably in Standards Mode, especially the Advanced Text block.
