Creating a Form to Gather Sensitive Data, Teletraining

Teletraining courses are designed to meet the needs of a single person. Therefore, the actual course content may vary from the outline below based on the desires and needs of the student.

Course Description

The purpose of this course is to teach you how to build and use a form that securely processes sensitive data such as social security numbers, birth dates, etc. Building a basic form is pretty easy. Making it secure is a little more complicated.

Goals and objectives

Upon completion of this course you will be able to create web forms that process sensitive information. Then you'll be able to retrieve that information using your member tools.

  • Content and Topics
  • Create a basic form
  • Making your form secure
  • Understanding the various notifications send to you and to your customers.
  • Securely retrieving information entered by your customers

Prerequisites

  • Understanding of basic Page builder functions such as finding a page to edit, adding and editing blocks, saving pages, previewing pages, etc.
  • Basic understanding of EZ Form Builder and how to add, remove, and modify the various types of fields associated with it.

Caveat.

The secure form will process data using industry standard encryption technology.   Thus, you can feel reasonable secure that hackers cannot access this data by “sniffing” online traffic nor penetrating our servers.  However, you will be responsible for whomever has access this data using your EZ-NetTools programs, such as your employees.   Consequently, we strongly suggest that you do not collect and store credit card information using online forms.  Instead, use the other payment processing methods available in EZ-NetTools, that are programmed to be more secure, to process credit cards.
