Global Information, Basic Features
2. Background Color or Image
Backgrounds can add color and style to a web page. They can dress it up or calm it down. Unfortunately, backgrounds can also be distracting and lead to poor web page usability if you are not careful. We suggest using a white background to begin with. As you get more experience you will likely want to make a change. White provides very good contrast with most other colors, which makes graphics, photos, and stand stand out on the page. For training purposes you might want to experiment with a different color.
You have two choices for your backgrounds, either a color or a graphic. A color background is very simple and sufficient for many web sites, especially your first one. If you choose a graphic, it will be displayed in the upper left hand corner and will be replicated to the right and down, filling the entire page. This is called "tiling." Well chosen, subtle, small graphics can create a very pleasing background pattern. Small graphics will also load very quickly. Since this is a basic course, we will let you experiment later with graphics on your own.
Within the Global Information window, select the "Color" radio button in the Background Section.
